Moto X going for $299 with coupon

The*Motorola Moto X, the company’s flagship Android device, is at an all-time low price at $299 with the use of a promo code at Motorola’s site.

Your first step is to head to the*Moto Maker website, the place where you can customize the colors and other options of the Moto X. Once you’ve had your fun, you can use the discount code “MBXISMOT” to lower the base price to $299. That’s a $100 discount at this point. The 32GB consumer and developer editions drop to $325, a $125 discount.

If you use the code, you’ll also get the*Motorola Skip, a small device that usurps the pin code lock screen security measure. By keeping the Skip on your person, you can avoid having to input the pin repeatedly while still locking the phone from the random person who grabs it off the street.

If you’re looking for some inspiration as to how to design your new Moto X, I’d suggest shelling out the extra $25 for the wooden back panel. Walnut is my favorite, but they also offer Ebony, Bamboo, and Teak.

Have you or anyone else ordered a moto x from the US? Are there any other costs or what not associated?

Have not a clue. Most people who order from US use a drop shipper in somewhere like oregan (no sales tax), who then couriers it to them

Those of you who have received the update, let us know what's different.

I've just completed the update, no obvious difference except for the Windows metro style Dialer LOL :p not sure I like it.

Here is the full change log:

-Android 4.4.4, KitKat, the latest version of Android
-Updated Phone dialer application
-Ability to pause video recording
-Enables Motorola Alert application download

And you can hide carrier name in the notification bar!

I never had it in the first place. Got it too now, there does not seem to be much of a difference. I want to test the GPS bug, but I don't have high hopes.

This is for the 4g LTE version that takes a memory card as well. The older 8gb and 16gb models were a bit less. Or you can go to your local CNA and buy a POS Galaxy S3 mini for 3K. Orange delivers in 3 to 4 days via UPS. There service is impressive.

I'm thinking of getting a Moto G 4G for me and giving my half-year old Moto G to my gf as her crapberry is dying on her way too often. The memory card slot is a bonus, but I must admit the Zest T1 with it's dual sim capability is tempting...

Just checked the Orange site. Does anyone know how long they are gonna stock the Motorola Moto G 4G for?

Yeah I always felt that once Lenovo bought Motorola, the innovation would cease.
