MotoGP 2020

Ugh, missed the race at 2pm so avoided all news, social media, spoilers etc until the replay now. Don't know why I bothered. Brad and Rossi binned it, Dovi nowhere, Peco let a potential victory slip.

Mir is a monster though! He's definitely a contender now, no two ways about it.

Something is up with factory Ducati compared to Pramac - they just are nowhere as you said - save for that one race. You would think they were the satellite team on older machinery

The future of MotoGP is looking interesting.

Rossi is set to finally confirm his signing with Petronas SRT this week and it is said to be a one-year deal. Part of the hold up is believed to be down to team personnel swaps. Fabio Quartararo has grown close to some of his team members and wants them to move to the factory team with him and vice-versa, Rossi wants to take some of his guys over to Petronas. It appears an agreement has been reached between the respective teams and the rider and personnel swaps will go ahead.

Of more interest is the 2022 rumour mill. 2022 is when many of the satellite teams see their deals run out with factory set-ups, one of them being Petronas SRT, who are said to be unhappy with the working relationship they have with Yamaha. It is not as close as they'd like it to be. This is the reason why Tech3 quit Yamaha and linked up with KTM, KTM offering to work closely with Tech3. Suzuki have openly said they need a satellite team to help speed up their development and with team agreements coming to an end, this could see Petronas SRT switch to Suzuki for 2022. And now comes Rossi's one-year deal and his desire to take Yamaha factory personnel with him. It is entirely conceivable that Rossi will retire at the end of 2021 and introduce his SKY VR46 team to MotoGP as the new Yamaha satellite team with an experienced core of team personnel.

There are also rumours that Esponsorama Avintia (Zarco's team) are considering quitting MotoGP in order to focus on their junior operations.

Dovi clearly doesn't want this championship.... Wow

Well done to Franco

His qualifying has just been an abject failure this season. That bike over one lap looks an absolute dog. It's only his consistency coupled with some good luck that has kept him at the head of the championship.

Fortunately his Sundays have been better than Saturday and you can overtake at Barcelona so hopefully he can use that Ducati grunt down the main straight to make up some positions. He'll be the luckiest mofo to still be leading leaving Barcelona though.

BB did well to mage it to Q2, hope he can finish the race as that is likely a top 10. Time to keep the championship points coming in.

Right, now that the F1 starter is out of the way, down to the main course!

What an anticlimactic race. Another strong performance from Juan Mir though. Another 2 laps and he'd have had Quartararo I reckon.

Imagine if Mir qualified in top 4...that Suzuki is immense at the end of the races

Advantage Petronas into the next couple of races
