That reputation though was largely born out of the need to take unnecessary risks to get the most out of a bike completely unsuited to him. Darryn is a big guy and it showed on those comparatively small bikes where being small of stature is key. On the bigger MotoGP bike, that need to take those risks should be far less. That's not to say that he won't battle hard but where most rational people will see hard (and hopefully fair) battling, his critics will see it as dangerous riding and "Darryn being Darryn".
