Not so sure; most top level racers have pushed the envelope plenty times; Rossi / Marquez against each other for example; plenty others, B Binder was penalised for two such efforts in his rookie year; long lap penalty I think. Simoncelli was another though. They live the creed "Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser".
 
Eish, Marc Marquez ruled out of this Sunday's race in Argentina due to ongoing double vision issues as a result of his Mandalika mishap. It really isn't looking good for him. You almost get the sense that he's one more big accident away from forced retirement.

Yamaha are in a spot of bother - 2 bikes with DNF due to mechanicals yesterday. This year looks to be year of the 'underdog' although KTM have great pace if they can just hook it up properly
 
Great for MotoGP to have a 3rd manufacturer in 3 races take top spot.

That being said my two least favourite riders are the Espargaro brothers and I'd prefer to see anyone else on the podium than them. Considering their very average MotoGP records they always have a lot to say about other riders.
 
According to Simon Patterson, there seems to be more freight delays. Evidently, one of the freight liners has experienced technical difficulties en route to Austin which means that the affected teams will only be getting their bikes and equipment Thursday around lunch time (Austin time). That is going to be a mad rush to get setup for Friday FP1. Not sure yet which teams are affected. His tweet just references "The factory teams"

Yeah it's a weird one. If I'm reading between the lines of his tweet, not all teams are affected. So does that mean that teams can choose with whom they wish to send their cargo? There doesn't appear to be a recommended Dorna approved carrier that all the teams use (like F1 uses DHL I think) so as a team, you really are at the mercy of your chosen airline's ability to keep their fleet maintained and functional.

In other news, Marc Marquez has been cleared to race and will take his place on the grid on his Honda.

EDIT: *Disclaimer* - Nothing as yet about this freight issue on MotoGP.com or Crash.net so either they haven't picked up the story yet or Mr Patterson is overstating the issue and I am spreading falsehoods. Let's wait and see (and hope!).

Not quite yet now as it appears. They have four concession points out of six (3 for the win in Argentina and 1 for his third place at Silverstone last year). Two more points before August this year will see their concessions fall away.
 
An iffy FP1 for Brad. While not slow by any means, he was still outside of the top 10 in FP1 (albeit by just less than 0.150 seconds). That being said, he was waaaay faster than Oliveira who was second to last (just ahead of di Giannantonio). Still, crucially he is slower than his immediate title rivals in Bastianini and Aleix Espargaro. Hopefully a solid FP2 can cement him an automatic entry into Q2 tomorrow. Otherwise it is going to be a long day out for Mr Sunday.
 
Best moment in qualifying was Aleix crashing after throwing his little temper tantrum about other riders being allowed on the track same time as him.

If it doesn't happen this year, then I don't know. First five places on the grid are all Bologna Bullets.

Another frustrating day in store for KTM I feel. Expect Brad to move forward but he's going to be losing big ground in the championship race I reckon...

I'm not sure how big a thing it is in MotoGP but could the KTM be suited for race pace vs one lap? They do seem to come alive in the race bit sometimes it's too much work to do from 16th etc

Been a common issue for Brad in particular over the last year or so where he really battles to extract one lap pace on Saturday but then comes roaring back on Sunday. Problem is with MotoGP being so tight now, it's harder to just easily move up through the field. I think today will be all about damage limitation. If he can keep it clean (and maybe benefit from a few fallers ahead), he may be able to salvage a Top 10.
