MotoGP 2023

Metaphorical earth shattering news in the world of MotoGP and a real mouth watering prospect in store. Marquez on a 2023* Ducati. This is going to be fascinating to watch.

*I think it's only Pramac that gets the latest spec Ducati along with the factory outfit but I could be wrong.

Currently this is correct - Mooney and Gresini get hand me downs and get updates later ALTHOUGH i think Luca has a factory spec latest bike

Damn - lets see what the Alien can do on arguably the best all round bike on the grid - without factory support
Yeah, going to be interesting, i reckon he will be in the top three next year.

Hopefully he can unlearn a lot of what he learnt at Honda in terms of riding that type of bike - I mean it didn't take Alex Marquez long to adapt

Just remember... the HRC was tailored by MM for MM, nobody else. AM never mastered the Honda (for the matter nobody else did either) , so not much unlearn :)

"I want to share with you this message that I sent to one of the team members:

I don't know where to start, I don't know if I'm doing right or wrong, I don't know what will happen in the future, I don't know if this will turn out well but what I do know is everything we achieved together.

It has been the most difficult decision of my life, guided by my head and courage, NOT by my heart. My team at heart will always be you, the ones from the BEGINNING, those who have supported me and will support me, but I have one thing clear, I want to try again to be the best rider in the world and for that I need to enjoy riding the bike.

I have used a theory that the mountaineer said in the book that you left me to read: If I can climb Mount Everest in 3 days, why climb it in 5? Logically, it is much more risky to upload it in 3 days, you expose yourself to much more and it may not be possible, but if I don't try, I'll never know. You have always told me and I have applied it: follow your instincts and character, in balls no one beats you. Finally, it's time for the heart to speak and, as you well know, our relationship is very special, that's why I hope our paths cross again. Let's enjoy these 6 races that we have left this year."

I wish him well, I really do even though I hated how he was too good to be beaten by Dovi for 3 years straight

Leaves Honda spent out a championship level rider (bar Mir) and places some huge questions for Honda in the bike sphere. Potential loss of huge sponsors, they also lost a key rider in MotoX …. Wonder where that leaves HRC as an organisation

Gasjer isn’t going anywhere is he? Or are you talking AMA? They cleaned up this year.

I’ll find the name, read it in an article and don’t really follow MotoX so I could have missed something.

Probably Chase Sexton in the AMA. Moving to KTM but the young Aussie they have signed is a phenom so not really a loss to HRC.

Acosta to GasGas next year

Edit: who gets the #37 then

The only open seat is now the HRC seat next to Mir, would Pol Espargaro head there or is he done in MotoGP?

Bez has undergone successful surgery to his collar bone and will be assessed in 48 hours as to his chances of riding. If declared unfit, he can probably kiss his 2023 title aspirations goodbye.

Fabio Quartararo throwing out the ultimatums to Yamaha now too.

Fabio Quartararo has warned Yamaha that he’ll leave unless they follow his orders to improve their 2024 bike. The 2021 MotoGP champion revealed how he criticised the team’s progress in a major feedback meeting after he was left disappointed at the Misano test.

Quartararo’s Yamaha contract runs until the end of 2024 meaning the team have one year to appease their star man, or he’ll walk away. “We have not a lot of time to make a revolution,” he said. “The future, right now, is not in my hands. It’s in Yamaha’s hands.

“Of course, I prefer to stay at Yamaha. But if they don’t make what I want - a competitive bike - I’ll have to consider myself moving for 2025." Quartararo’s - and Yamaha’s - plight began midway through his title defence last year, allowing Francesco Bagnaia to claw back a 91-point deficit.

But their performance this year has been stark, not only behind Ducati but slipping behind KTM and Aprilia too.

Where would he potentially go though that would be a step up? The Ducati seats all look filled (I can't see him unseating any of the VR46 academy riders). KTM will likely promote from within their ranks should they wish to replace Miller or Fernandez and they have a wealth of talent to choose from. Aprilia maybe? Would Noale give one of Vinales or Espargaro the boot to accommodate Quaratararo?

Meant to reply earlier but work got me by dem balls

Japanese manufacturers are on notice in a huge way, will need a change of culture and approach so be relevant again

I think Aprillia would be a good fit for Fabio. Ducati would be more difficult unless Enea gets the boot (which is possible) but I don’t see him fighting with Pecco in the same squad
