Motorist shot dead in road rage attack

Slowly but surely Gauteng people are screwing up their own lives because they refuse to obey traffic laws. I say good riddance to the guy who jumped the robot and killed the other guy. Hope he gets used many times over in jail. Sure you can say the other guy shouldn't have confronted but every bloody day someone else is doing the similar vs road laws.. i said it before many times.. Gauteng region can expect many such deaths as the economy staggers and tensions run high. If people obeyed laws we'd not be in as bad a situation but such is life in the north..

He insists I put mine there so it's out of reach of the children. We normally dop a bit and I suspect he doesn't like alcohol and guns mixing. I have never had issues. I put it on the fridge and take it when we leave.

Manslaughter with a self defense plea. He will most likely get two years, possibly even a suspended sentence.
There was a physical assault on his person.
Court will take that into account.

Feels too light IMHO but even worse, how do you live with yourself and how will this affect the kids....
 
You run a stop street with two kids in the car, then shoot and kill the guy who confronts you. Not entirely sober judgements there.

I have accepted that Metro police get paid to sort out the roads. I don't so not going to put myself in danger to do their work. I just chill, put the music on and roll home :p
 
Boksburg man shot dead in road rage
Boksburg resident Louis Jansen van Rensburg (53) was shot and killed at about 7.30am on Wednesday morning, in an alleged road rage incident in Bonaero Park.

According to the Kempton Express, our sister newspaper, a case of murder has been opened following the shooting on Daeraad Road.

Jansen van Rensburg was killed by a single bullet which struck him in the face. He was on his way to work at the airport when he died.

Although Express knows the name of the suspect, his identity cannot be revealed until he has appeared in court. According to those who know him, the 45-year-old man is a Bonaero Park resident. His two young daughters were in the car with his when the incident happened.

A witness, who was reversing out of his driveway at the time of the incident, explained to Express what he saw just before Jansen van Rensburg was gunned down. Jansen van Rensburg was driving a dark grey Isuzu bakkie and the suspect was in a white VW sedan.

“I was taking my children to school when I saw two cars coming down Carp Road. The guy in the white car skipped the stop sign and just randomly stopped in the middle of the road. Jansen van Rensburg tried to drive around the white car to overtake it. The white sedan also turned right into Daeraad Road, with Jansen van Rensburg following him,” the witness recalled.

Jansen van Rensburg stopped his car on the side of the road, a few meters behind the sedan. According to the witness, he initially thought the two were travelling together and got lost.

“After the two cars had stopped, the victim got out of his bakkie and walked over to the suspect’s vehicle.”

The next thing he saw was Jansen van Rensburg allegedly slapping the suspect through the car window.

“That’s when I realised something wrong was happening. Soon after the slapping, I heard a gunshot. When I turned to look, the victim had fallen to the ground.”

Another Bonaero Park resident, who passed by just after the incident, said he found the suspect standing outside his car, in tears and in total shock.

Kempton SAPS, the metro police, forensics unit as well as the community watch were at the scene.

Kempton SAPS spokesman, Capt Jethro Mtshali, confirmed a case of murder had been opened.

Jansen van Rensburg apparently worked at the airport at air traffic control. Some of his colleagues who were at the scene were also on their way to work, as they use the same route. After identifying his car, some stopped to find out what was happening.

They described him as a wonderful guy and “there is nothing bad to say about him”.

The shooter didn't necessarily jump the stop street on purpose. It really could have been a mistake. To then have someone follow you, get out of their car and slap you in the face - what should he have done? Turned the other cheek? Tried to get out the car himself, and potentially been killed himself?

Shooting someone in the face is about as extreme as you can get. Also there is a big difference between getting slapped and getting dead.
 
Question whats the significance of only one shot fired? No warning shot fired....

How come they never turn out to be ***holes? They're always nice and wonderful.
 
I do not own a gun! Thankfully, because I have a very short temper. So many people would be dead by now.
