No Escape (2015, Wilson) - 7/10

Very nice flick, keeps you at the edge of the seat. Some small amount of 'more of the same' at stages, but nonetheless very thrilling.

The Book Thief (2013) - 8/10

Excellent little war drama set in Germany. The acting is top-drawer and the film looks and sounds fantastic, with the music done by one John Williams. Change of pace to see things from the eyes and hearts of normal German folks.

It is quite wonderful. Really want to read the book, as well.

The narrative by Death is also a nice touch and quite sobering at times.

This one particularly struck me;

''It's always been the same. The excitement and rush to war. I met so many young men over the years who have thought they were running at their enemy, when the truth was, they were running to me.''

Make sure you make time to play with your kids afterwards. And have a nice dinner. And then watch a comedy.

Oh I'll be in a top mood due to my ridiculous 2 1/2 job situation finally coming to an end.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015) 7/10

1st off I have never heard of the series before; all 3 lead characters done a solid job; the period setting was smart as well. I just felt the story could have been better. Good watch but I still rate the other spy movies: Spy (2015) & Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) a fair deal better as an overall watch & for the entertainment aspect.

I hated this movie. Could not understand how it got such good reviews. Think I watched an hour or so and switched it off.

:eek: What? Did I read right?

Aren't you the dude that is supposed to revise his opinion to follow what reviews say? :D

Is that still haunting me? I revise my opinion if a review helps me to see something I hadn't appreciated or noticed before on first watching. It doesn't mean I'm a slave to critical opinion.
