Movie Mini-Review Thread

Butler (2014) - 7/10

About an African American butler working at the White House from the 50's up until the 2000's. Mostly talks about racism and civil rights movements for the African Americans.

Plot was great, just didn't think the acting was all that believable in some of the hectic scenes

Insurgent (2014) 5/10

Better than the second Hunger Games movie is the best thing I could find to say about it. Shailene Woodley still does a good job...she's a pretty fine actress.

Insurgent (2014) 7/10
Good movie, kept me interested unlike these two:

Neighbors (2014) 1/10
1 might be kind (enjoyed Rose Byrne speaking in her native Australian accent), watched about 15 minutes, couldn't stand it anymore, stopped watching and deleted.

Sex Tape (2014) 0/10
Stopped watching after 10 minutes.

True Story (2015) 7/10

Jurassic World - 4/10

Amazed I watched till the end.

Terminator Genisys (2015) - 5/10 The story was somewhat of a disappointment. The trailer practically contains the entire plot.

^ What happens when Hollywood runs out of ideas and tries to milk the old cow some more

The reason I don't watch trailers of movies I know I will watch.

This is something i started doing aswell.Trailers always ruin a movie for me because i go in expecting so much.

Same. Been doing this since before Inception. I hate knowing anything about a movie before I go in. Made me watch some movies that weren't really to my liking but I prefer it this way.

When I haven't heard about anything about the movie, I'll start watching the trailer until I'm interested, and stop it a.s.a.p.

Spy (2015) - 7/10
Good fun entertainment. Nice to see Jason Statham in comedy again. He's actually very good at it. Basically ripped off his usual action hero type.

Focus (2015) - 7/10
Better than I thought it would be. Will Smith's best movie in a while. And that girl...Margot Robbie....

I always do half price Tuesdays R26 2D - R30 3D.

Its kinda hard to avoid trailers when your in the cinema
I tend to only read/watch reviews after seeing a movie that I've enjoyed.

Awesome character study with some thought-provoking social commentary.

+1. My whole family enjoyed this movie.

Ex Machina 8/10
Very good. But could have been even better. The ending doesnt really address the whole ai topic and the turing test.

Check out the trailer for Suicide Squad

Big Hero 6 (2014)

Well made. Predictable. Disappointing. This movie is 100% aimed at children. 6/10

I thought the ending was brilliant in that AI can be used to simulate human responses.

Damn we need a spoiler thread for this movie.
