Never read the comics - how does this compare in tone?

I'm not sold.

The tone actually seems pretty good to me. My concern is the suit - makes me think of the suit in that godawful Superman Returns film.

I've only ever read him as part of other DC character comics which have usually had a darker tone. I don't mind comedy, Spiderman and Ant-man both had their share of funny without being overboard. This feels far too silly for my liking, the suit looks ridiculous. There used to be a show on e-tv called Phat Joe. This reminds me of his character Dada man.

It all depends on the writer. Agree about the suit, but I don't mind silly if it's done well.
