Moving away from uncapped mobile broadband

Looks like they found some solution for "piracy" (or trying to). Word of power: cap.
I think i need to relocate to the states
Or Japan.

AT&T is taking it's customers for a ride.

$15 for 200MB and $15 for every 200MB thereafter, or $25 for 2GB and $10 for every 1GB thereafter? Maybe the bandwidth-spoiled Yankeestanians need to have the term "cross-subsidation" explained to them.

looks like the East Coast's Cablevision's decided to play things a little differently than Comcast and Time Warner: it's just announced that uncapped 101Mbps DOCSIS 3.0 service will be rolling out on May 11 across its entire service area. The best part? It'll cost $99 a month, making it faster and cheaper than any other high-speed package we can think of

I googled USA ISP's and cant find anything related to 'caps'

If this report is indeed true and not a propaganda campaign then it is quite easy. The people who are with AT&T need to give them the boot and move over to Comcast - 250Gbs isn't to shabby at all.

Maybe this will help. :-?

links, or this news article is a lie!!

MyBB's articles try not to lie too much. :-P

The article is about AT&T. Is it that difficult to look on their website!?

What a load of rubbish... Watch what happens when ISPs start capping people overseas - guess what, people will move to truly uncapped ISPs.

Lets hope this is not justification for SA going back to capped solutions :O

$75 for a Gigabyte of mobile data? Holy crap, that seems ridiculously overpriced even by South African standards. I'll bet that AT&T's new plans have more to do with greed than with high bandwidth demand, after all that is about 300 times more expensive per-gig than a much faster wired connection from Comcast.

Bet most subscribers will go for the DataPro plan instead at $10 a gig, only 50 times more expensive than cable.

Uhm, from how I understood the engadget article this is only for smartphones, dumbphones still get unlimited data

We haven't even touched proper uncapped yet with the shaping and all.

That's what I am thinking as well, come on 'staff writer' we're just making headway here in SA and now you are giving the big companies other ideas again... :P
