I can see why you agree with whatshisname about the people leaving SA not being "fighters" or whatever, if you can't work out something like that.

It's a forum, obviously it is to share opinions. If I think someone's post is a load of crap then I will point that out when I feel like it.

First world cities tend to have fewer people getting robbed and killed...
Cape Town seems like a nice place and all but I'd prefer a proper first world place to be my home. CT has the benefit of not being completely run by the ANC clowns at least, it seems like things are run better there than Durban.

I can give many examples that can go on for days. So for starters I'll talk about unemployment. That's what black people have to worry about.

White people nowadays like to moan about how they are struggling to find work. It's this narrow-minded, egotistic, me-me mindset that make whites fail to realise that for every one white person who can't find a job there are 10 or 20 or 30 black people who are equally as qualified who can't get work.

Civil war is a very bad idea...look at Congo, Angola, etc they are still rebuilding even today.

Well, we don't need civil war. This country has kept up well because we had good negotiators who were willing to compromise on both sides of black and white. Just so you know BEE is white mans creation proposed as an alternative compromise to the demands of the Freedom Charter which required nationalisation of key sectors of the economy and by extension the entire economy. Mandela and his ANC people were pushing ahead to stay true to the Freedom Charter but because the whites didn't want to lose all they had they proposed BEE. So next time you talk about BEE please know that it is a creation by the white business elites who were only interested in protecting their own wealth without giving a damn about you.

It's largely thanks to the ANC that we did not have civil wars. The way the ANC manages to unite different black tribes is probably the reason why we did not have civil wars.

Back when the ANC had Nelson Mandela and they weren't a complete joke.

Yea civil war is definitely not the way to go now, the country is too stable for that to happen. ANC is slowly losing support, I do think things can improve in time as the new generation takes over, they don't care as much about what happened in the old days and don't have the same loyalty to the ANC. I'm not a complete pessimist.
 
I too don't get why white people whine so much about BEE and AA. White people are still working, still starting companies and still making money. White foreigners actually come to South Africa to work and to start companies because of the opportunities here.

That's actually sad for the countries to which the people who leave South Africa go. They're not getting the fighters, the people who won't stand for rot in the governments of those countries, but people who'll accept whatever the government tells them in exchange for a nice plush cell.

Closest thing I said to that is I prefer living in first world countries, so that's quite something to pull out of your a**.

It's only worth a rebut if it has decent justification in the first place. If some random person calls you an idiot do you explain your education history to them or do you tell them to piss off?

Nox's comment simply assumes all people leaving the country are exactly the same and applies a rather insulting generalisation to them. Not a suitable part of an intelligent conversation if you ask me.
I'm one of those people who left the country and I felt insulted by it, hence my response.

Every second person I meet who is visiting from the UK wants to know if they should move back, things are ****ty there. Less jobs, more problems, more unrest.

You might as well be back home in SA.
