Moving from BlackBerry to Android

Hi everyone, Im also about to upgrade and still have no idea to what phone I want. Im currently with Nokia and want to move over to blackberry or android.

Im a heavy internet user with wifi connection at home, but next year Im going to be much more on the move, thats pullihg me to blackberry with their BIS, but I also like loads of apps and a visually pleaseing os, thats where android comes in.

Anyones's thoughts whos had both of them?

Get an iPhone. Nice inbetween the two extremes.

I moved to a SE arc! Looove it!
Its just a little big(wide).
I don't miss BBM, there's so much more to test than waste time chatting just coz its free.

It's not only about chatting. Search the forum - on OS6 there isn't a filesize limit on BIS, so people are downloading big files (movies etc) without paying anything more.

I detest the iPhone xD I will never be able to live within Apple`s walls. Not on my phone. I'd have an iPad, but then, I'd prefer a Galaxy tab 10.1 :D

I just look at those BBs and i just want to bring-up :( that UI, those tacky apps, that crappy browser, their tiny screens....i just cant, ive been spoilt by my X10 and Android2.3 ,going back to my 4" screen droid from using a friends 9700 was like going from a Peugeot 307 straight into a BMW M5, incredible!

Just got my Android yesterday (SGS2)

There are things coming up that I can't believe it doesn't have.

The one; which is really killing me now is that I cannot set up the tone/vibration per gmail account and google talk. So either it is on or off. This is extremely frustrating because on my BB I set up the tones so that I could hear if it's a google talk message or an email. Maybe I am missing something but if this is the case I am very disappointed.

Um, you are missing something. Open gmail, press menu, choose "notification ringtone", then change to anything. Default uses the chosen notification tone for the phone, anything else will be app specific. Do the same for gtalk or any other making use of notifications. Seriously, what do think you're dealing with here, Apple?

Thanks :/ my bad.

But if I want for example my one gmail account to only vibrate and my other to vibrate and sound? Or my one account to have one sound and my other account another sound?

Go into the account you want to change, and choose the options. I don't use the gmail app much, but the one called "Email" remembers settings per account. :)
