Moving Music collection.

I hope this is in the right section.

I currently have my music collection on my C:\ drive. I am getting a new 2TB external HDD. What would be the best way to move my music?

Would it be to just cut the music and put it on the external and then locate the files when I try to play it

or

Delete the whole library, move the music and then re-add to iTunes.

or is there another way?

Any help would be appreciated.

Copy the iTunes folder to the new drive and then point itunes at it (Preferences > Advanced > iTunes Media Folder Location)

And make sure you have a back-up copy!
