I have Firefox as my default browser. When ever I go on the internet, say for instance Kick ass torrents and I download the links to the torrents then it works fine. But say I minimize it and search for something again after say half an hour, and I try and download another link from the site, it wont give me the option to save or open the file.
It is becoming rather frustrating.
Also, these last three days it crashes more frequently, and because of said problem, I don't even use it that much, just open and once done I close it again.

So now I want to know whether there is a general problem with Mozilla, or should I one time start using Chrome or IE?

if you want to keep ff, disable all plugins and see if the behaviour persists. if it doesn't then it is a matter of eliminating which [plugin is causing the issue.

you can also test whether the behaviour happens with other browsers.

I am gonna disable later this afternoon. If the problem persist I am gonna try Chrome and see if same problem comes up.

I have none of the problems you described and use FF on Linux/Windows 7 and now also Windows 8 (All 64 bit)

I suspect it might be something to do with your Add-ons. What version are you on(Current is 16.0.2) and what extensions/plugins are you running?

I suggest you to use Chrome. I'm using it for browsing and It's a good browser. About Mozilla, I use it only because of the firebug add-on.

I have that problem on-and-off with kickass as well. Seems more a problem with torcache going down. But when it happens, I can always use the magnet links, they work 100% of the time :)

I also had problems with Kickass on Fedora/Firefox/Transmission, for some unknown reason it refused to recognise links correctly from Kickass and wanted to open them with gedit. I now use Torrentroom for my links - problem sorted.
