Hi there,

After a forced install of Vista (long story), my version of Microsoft Money 2001 simply will not work on it. I've looked up the problem and seen that it is incompatible with Vista - big surprise.

I've looked everywhere to see if anyone has a newer version of it, but I simply cannot find anyone who sells it! To make my problem even more complicated, I can't order it online, because I need the UK edition over the US, because of the difference in TAX systems.

Please can anyone advise me with anything? :(

The only version you'll be able to use in SA is MS Money 2005, everything past that one is incompatible.
There's a few places where u can buy it, also part of the MS Works bundle.

If u want a later one one (2006 up), you'll have to export your accounts one by one and then re import them, will take a day or so to do.

Klev,

Can I recommend you rather use Quickbooks? You can get a 2006 Pro edition with the SA Tax system. The new versions haven't been released with UK/SA tax yet (well at least not on the torrent sites ;))

Quickbooks is really a good piece of accounting software that's easy to use, and the quick to learn. You can also import all your previous account details/invoices/quotes etc from MS Money into QB format.

I think I may have a spare copy, just let me know if you need it :)

I'm not sure if it is compatible with Vista but I remember looking at a box at Incredible Connection last year and the box said something along the lines of being supported until a certain date which was coming up too quickly for me to bother buying it.

Perhaps you should look at other alternatives as opposed to QuickBooks and Money?
