MS Office ignoring my language preferences

Hi.
I have set my default proofing language to Afrikaans. But, Office, does not matter the program, always changes it back to English. I still need my system language to be English but need my Proofing language to be Afrikaans. I have really tried everything I could find to do this. And the Afrikaans language pack for proofing is the one Office suggested.
This is driving me nuts. Please help.
 
Try adding Afrikaans as an additional language in Windows 10s settings - I have added English UK as an additional preferred language - then do a reboot & then set up MS Office with Afrikaans as an additional language & see if that resolves the problem.

Thanks for your time & reply.

Attached my current Windows Language settings. I think I must uninstall the Afrikaans language pack and see what happens.

Try demoting Afrikaans from being the primary default app language by clicking on it & using the 'down arrow' on the left to move it down - then make sure that English (South Africa) is the primary default app language and Afrikaans is listed as the additional language pack.

See my screenshot as an example if I wanted to demote my primary preferred language:
