I'm actually surprised that Oudtshoorn hasn't got 8ta 3G reception yet.

They targeted the big cities first and then moved on to the biggest towns in the provinces.

In Western Cape they already have coverage for Paarl, Malmesbury, Stellenbosch, Darling, Atlantis, George, Knysna, Worcester, Kimberley. Check here : http://www.8ta.com/coverage/8tanetwork/

I'm sure it won't be long till you have 8ta 3G, just keep the faith! :)

Oh I've been waiting for so long. :D Like you said George which is only 60km away has 3g, why not extend it to Oudtshoorn? Oh well guess I just have to wait. :(

Well, you can always contact 8ta and ask them when is it scheduled to arrive, and hopefully it's nothing like phoning Telkom's helpdesk. :sick:

Thanks I might be going to George this Saturday, will pop in at the 8ta store there and find out of they can tell me. Might even get a 8ta sim while I'm there.

Imagine they skip 3G and come and plant a LTE tower right in the centre of Oudtshoorn.

We can dream? :)
 
All these deals are worthless.. We need ad hoc bolt on data this cheap. Data we can bolt on monthly to out iphone/droid/bb packages
 
Let me know when I can add this to my voice contract.
 
Thanks but no thanks. I will stick to my 8ta 2GB pre-paid "no contract" for R149 that lasts two calendar months goodness. Effectively it works out to be R75 per month for 1GB with no strings attached. So this looks laughable in comparison. Plus, 8ta's network if far more stable than MTN data wise.
