I previously had a problem with MTN's itemised billing, to which I did not have any response from MTN.

And now this (email sent on 02/02/2008):

Hi there

I received my statement today with a notice of increase in pricing of certain services.

In the notice the following is mentioned:
"Maintaining this high standard of service is, however, affected by normal inflationary pressures, which necessitate adjustment in our tariffs from time to time"

With regards to your itemised billing is the above supposed to be some sort of joke?
1. I did not receive any itemised billing with the current statement [with the increase notification] even though I was promptly charged for it.
2. In the previous months that I did receive my itemised billing, only one to date was a complete itemised billing.

I did complain [2 or 3 times] previously about point number 2 but didn't receive any response to date from MTN. Very high standard that???

Regards

Haven't received a response yet:mad:.

The itemised billing on my contract is mandatory. So it seems only the charge is mandatory and not the actual itemised billing:mad:.

I don't even need the itemised billing, but I can't have it removed from my contract because it is mandatory:sick:.

Are there any MTN reps around here?

Well i do get an itemised bill in my mail, but i do not get it on the site, i always have to request it at a cost of R20 per bill......

EDIT: Confirmed. I pay R19 a month for itemised billing, but if i want to actually GET the itemised bill i'm hit with this:

Please confirm the details below.
Request Itemised Billing
Period 2008-01-13
Fee (incl VAT) R 19.95
Terms and Conditions have been read and understood

Thieves indeed?

In most cases nowadays the itemised billing charged is factored into the discount ie normal Procall 120 charge is R285.00 excluding Value addded services BUT say for instance you take a Nokia 8600 you will pay a procall 120 @ R369 pm. If one takes away the discount you will pay the R19 less, therefore you will no longer be paying the R369.00 for the procall- and that therefore will not be the package you signed for- this is why the itemised billing is mandatory.

I'm paying R100.48 on top up 75. Your explanation of mandatory still doesn't account for the fact that the itemised billing is charged but not sent.

Then i would advise that we look into why you are not recieving itemised billing as opposed to cancelling of it Saule.

I thought I would get discount by requesting that MTN stop sending me 10 pages of itemised billing, instead, just send me an email.

Guess what? After numerous requests...even on their web site...I still get it every month.

*Like the problem I've had now for over a year...cannot get my free minutes by dialling 16202)...snakepit tried...still can't do it.

MTN sucks... gonna move all my accounts to Vodacom. Can't wait.

I got an email saying they could send me the itemised billing by fax or email. I replied with my fax number, but haven't received it yet.

Some positive news though is that with this months statement I received a refund for last months itemised billing that wasn't sent. Also the itemised billing included all "missing" transactions from October.

So you get below par service from MTN until you complain [a lot].

Also I am now wondering if I will get charged double for next month for the faxed itemised billing that wasn't faxed.

I also wanted MTN to send me statements by email instead of getting sent 10+ pages every month. Not to get a discount but just to save some paper. About 9 months later I've finally got them to do so.

Before moving to Vodacom, take all the frustration you are having with MTN then double that and add Telkom like wait times when calling support, that will give you an idea of what you are planning on moving to.

They all suck, rather just stick with the provider you've already learnt to deal with.

Well I do have a Vodacom contract as well and I don't have any of this BS on that contract.
