It's an average over 2 years so it makes sense.

If you pay for a 50GB per month special they should give you a promotion with the same amount not give your monthly contract for average usage. Max usage per month is more fair, not average.

Offering you an average usage promotion per month is like paying for comprehensive car insurance and not being in an accident in 24 months. They noticed from your tracker you travelled 40K KM without accident over 24 months so they decide to change your comprehensive car insurance and offer you tire wear insurance instead for the next 24 month without you having the option of the same promotion as before. You phone the call center and they assure you it is the best considering your average usage of the car over 24 months. You agree take the offer and the next month you have an accident which writes off your car but it isn't covered by insurance. Same with them offering you a 10GB package based on average usage and they nail you with out of bundle R2 per MB if you use 50Gb for the month. You are then liable to pay R80K per month for the 40GB you spent over the 10GB or R1.6 million of 24 months if you use 50G per month very month for 24 months. That is absurd. If they use that logic then it makes no sense.

Same applies if you buy a 24 month gym membership on a very good promotion of R150 per month. Over the 24 months you only visit once per month. The next contract they offer you based on your average gym usage that you pay R100 per gym session 24 month contract which they say should work out at R100 per month. However over the next 24 months you visit them gym daily so you basically pay R100*30 =R3000per month.

Um you can't compare it to insurance.

The pricing should differ for each ones specialised offers.
May as well wait before we jump to conclusions in any case.
 
Mines is 27gb and 350min. I'm also waiting to see this "personalised" offer.

Hopefully they then work it off of a monthly max average

In a way it's unfair..they rewarding the over users.

Business sense would be to reward the low users.

We have to wait and see what they are going to do and what logic or illogic they will apply.
 
"Personalised" is a marketing term - you won't get a "personalised" deal. There would in all likelyhood be 2 or 3 deals made available, none will be as good as the one you're on.

I just wonder what the cut off date for acceptance will be. Can we wait for BF before we sign up?
 
Also got it today, not sure where they get their figures from because I flatten my data just about every month, I wish I only averaged 5.2gb per month.

Decided to phone them all it took was 30 mins and job done, ! Stupid online store. 40gb total data, R299 isn't bad at all considering I was paying Afrihost R220.00 a month for 4.5gig, would cost R1007+ R109 for afrihost + for 20gigs data.I guess I will kick my self if the BF deal is better, honestly tired of afrihost....
