MTN Black Friday Discussions

I'm on the Made for Me. My dual sim got deactivated last week and now I'm using data share. Before that I couldn't use the dual sim amd data share at the same time

Cool. I'll deactivate my dual Sim and hopefully that will resolve it.

Or they will stuff it up and I lose both.
 
I have datashare activated on my account. Under the data part in the my mtn app, its showing how much data I can share.

I tried to activate dual sim at the store and they mentioned "the made for me " does not support.

I'm on the R299 deal with gb + min.
 
My one 2016 BF contract that I converted to prepaid kept 232min and 374 sms that expire on 12/01/2019, stoked!

Can anyone confirm that Datashare and dualsim does not work?

I'm on a 299 60+60gb deal.

I have both enabled and the dualsim won't work and the Datashare has been pending since I activated it a week or 2 ago.

May I ask, how are you trying to datashare?

1. Through the myMTN app or 2. Through the USSD method.

Ps. I had a similar problem when I tried activating through number 1, it just wasn't Activating, But worked with number 2(ussd)

Steps for number 2 :

- Dial *141*5#
- should arrive at a menu
- Select option 3

- then select option 3 again for data share

Thus, you can link or delink numbers :)
 
My data balance dropped from 70+ gigs to around 40 gigs this morning. Not sure why, looks like mtn can't get their s%*t together

Mine dropped as well.. Looks like the last of the 2016 BF data expired
 
I was expecting it to expire at the end of this month or on the next roll over date on 12 Jan 2019
Same here, but alas .

Anyone received any update or feedback regarding incorrect allocations yet? I'm one of those with the 299 data and min deal but only received 11gig of the 40 I am supposed to have received...
 
Massive issue with this at retention. They even have a voice announcement when calling in. Imagine having to correct the thousands of new contracts
 
I am sitting with so much data i dont know what to do with it. Signed for the R299.00 deal and i have over 100gb at present available. The 10000 minutes have always remained. I am happy :).
 
Well, it finally happened...as of this morning, no more 50GB data cap and 10000+ free minutes. Sucks. Hardly used the minutes to be fair...its the data I'm going to miss. :(

So now I have 3 options below. Offer 2 seems best as I can use WhatsApp calling most times, so thats fine. Other option is stay on Talk S, but then get a Rain uncapped sim...but have a feeling my dual sim functionality has been blocked by MTN on my P9 Lite when I got the Black Friday special in 2016. So ja...looks like its offer 2 I'm taking. 30GB is more than enough for me each month.

Thanks for the post above, once you've completed the process above, the nominee then get an SMS confirming the Data share activation, what then? Does the recipient then just use data, is there a way of checking how much data they have to use (from the Data share bundle)
 
Also signed up on Black Friday 2016. My two sims each got preloaded with another 50GB of data. I'm assuming that the 2016 contract is going to keep running until I say otherwise? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Think it depends when you signed it. I got that deal on Black Friday 2016...but contract only actually started Dec 14 2016 because MTN has problems their side activating it...blah blah blah...so some people had their start on Black Friday 2016....others much later, and seems you even later? Who knows...maybe its a glitch and you got lucky! :D

So after my BF switch to a 10gb+1gb(10gbnight+10gbnight) contract, the following happened. Woke up Yesterday morning with 70 gb data. And woke up this morning with 100gb data...?
