MTN Black Friday Discussions

To consider:

Many of the MTN BF deals are based on the Mega Gigs package.
12gb = 1gb +500mb social +500mb video stream +10gb promo.
52gb = 1gb +500mb social +500mb video stream + 50gb promo

Both have 1gb shareable data

MTN beats Vodacom with shareability
Vodavom beats MTN performance during loadshedding.

Ignition seems to be the unicorn department!

This is where the issue is MTN's retention strategy as there is no consolidation of products on offer. After phoning several times, I finally gave up on the 2023031 CT 00009 deal as nobody I got through to knew about the code. I eventually settled on their 30GB for 18 months @149. Not sure why they dont just create a consolidated list of offerings and send that out to their customers who are up for contract renewal.

Nothing they where offering compared to the mychoice400 package I had with them so this was a major downgrade. I took out the home internet 30mbps from vodacom which offers 600GB FUP for some of my heavy data usage months. If things work out with vodacom, then I wont regret breaking from the mtn BF cycle.

As the saying goes, "Loyalty is for dogs" and I have been loyal to mtn for too long now. Vodacom won this round and will be getting most of my money.

I wanted to ask, does the mtn mobile internet ruby contract require a new sim card or I can just use the current sim card I have?

Reason I'm asking is because I want to buy the 70gb black Friday special with the 130gb free, but then I see that it wants my residential address even though I don't want any device.

we on mtn smme and consumer deals not applicable, it seems like no option but to port to prepaid

20GB + 100 All net @ R99 x 24 (202210EBF22)

the equivalent is 3 times the price on smme department

I've cancelled 2 of my smme contracts for the very same reason.
You cannot get the consumer deals.

so lady says i wont be able to upgrade since i already did

i didnt fight it cause its better its 24 month contracts for little money

i did take out fibre but only vumatel was avialble by parents. so now that fibre is krap and luckily month to month
im going to take mtn home ..35mb at 499 a month

does anyone know if that speed is always available or depends on location

cos it is a 5g router and a month to month contract

Hi guys,
My BF upgrade didn't go through for some reason. I'm trying to get hold of MTN to try sort it out, but struggling to get hold of anyone there.
Does someone have an email address or number of someone I can get hold of please?

Apparently, only the person that did your upgrade can help you

I am in the same boat as you. My contract is now in the 25th, out of contract, so i am still on my old contract, but i see that i was loaded with my full old bundles, 550min 50sms 15gb, and my bill amount is now R108 (should be R159)

I was offered a retension upgrade deal for R99, 100min 50sms 20gb, its not upgraded yet

Same. Upgraded on 01/11 received confirmation email, sms etc but min/data allocation still shows as previous BF deal at the new subs of R190pm.

old BF deal - 25GB; 1400min @ R499pm
new BF deal - 17GB; 500min @ R190pm

So atm I'm being charged R190pm for 25GB; 1400min

Those of you on the 50GB +150GB promo...how much are you able to datashare ?
I was told only 30GB of the 50GB is available for data share.

As well as the 70GB + 130GB promo data ? Is this 50GB or only 30GB shareable ?

Going to log into the router when I get home. Will check.

Edit: 50gb is shareable on the 50+150 R299pm

I had the same thing on my last upgrade via retentions, the guy cocked it up and I was on the new contract but still getting the previous contracts allocation. If that is better for you just leave it.

Please elaborate. Is this a prepaid deal? What are consumer deals?

How do I claim the 20GB bundle from takealot ,the one with the hisense modem?

I upgraded to the 200 +200 Gigs (Anytime) for R399 end of November, today I was credited with 500 Gigs (Shareable) and 100 Gigs (anytime) promotional data.

*Edit
Their SMS says I got 300 Gigs.
