Per monthSuperFlex - MTN South Africa
www.mtn.co.za
I assume these superflex plans comes with 10gig data once off not per month ?
Per month
The package is a disruptor of note. I think less and less people are actually making calls and thus the unlimited included calls. Most people want data these days and call via Whatsapp, the included 10GB is not that much and insufficient for most subscribers. So you get unlimted local calls and 10gig a month for R 299 ? Cheaper than the BF deal with 10G and 500
minutes

MTN bombshell — unlimited voice and 10GB data for R299 per month
South Africa’s second-largest mobile network operator has announced MTN SuperFlex — a SIM-only month-to-month tariff plan that offers unlimited voice minutes and SMS messages, with a customisable data allocation.mybroadband.co.za
I do see this article seems like a great deal not sure what I am missing
Hmm so telkom official number, pre approved me, made me authorize a Debicheck and then said sorry declinedJust make sure that deal comes directly from MTN and you aren't speaking to an MTN person on FB or social media. I had attempted fraud when making a complaint with MTN. A very official MTN looking FB complaints manager talked me through the complaint and made me a decent retentions offer. Then did a Std Bank debicheck, then asked me to pay the upgrade fee into an "MTN Retentions" ABSA account, which is where I got suspicious.
Seems it's a double con. The make you pay the upgrade fee into an account purchasing airtime for themselves, and use your docs and the debicheck to take out fast loans in your name.
I managed to block everything hopefully, but suspect they got the loan and I've been doing damage control for a few days.
Just beware of very convincing scams. She blocked me when I insisted she call me from an MTN office number or give me hers.
Doesn't Vodacom have datashare on their Red Plans?A trend, which I have not seen mentioned here, is that MTN have put in big datashare controls. All deals only offer 50gb or 100gb shareable data and the bigger allocation is labelled promo, which is non shareable.
On my one deal I took out, shareable is 50gb, promo is 150gb = 200gb for R299. On that R399 600gb deal, only 100gb is shareable, while the extra 500gb is promo and non-shareable.
Clearly they are playing the DSTV card and trying to boost contracts by restricting sharing. I can see a lot of people being caught out by this change - those peeps who sign up without realising that bonus data is not shareable, only to find out when their family members run out of data, yet the main sim still has tons of promo data left.
MTN know they have the advantage over Vodacom with the datashare (Vodacom had better BF deals this year), but they're now putting the squeeze on.
You can call the bank and have them cancel a Debicheck authorization. Was fairly easy for me..Hmm so telkom official number, pre approved me, made me authorize a Debicheck and then said sorry declined
The Debicheck is still active on my Banking app and I can't cancel it
Telkom says it won't go off my account but it's there on the banking App
Will it go off?
Should I wait and see or can I have the Debicheck cancelled?

It has been a while, but at long last I received a call today from Sandisiwe at MTN Complaints Specialist Dept, she told me that MTN has written off the out-of-contract bundle charge and the credit will appear on my next billing run. I am relieved that this has been resolved.Quick update,
I have forwarded my email of 19 November 2020 (three years and one day later) to Jacki O’Sullivan (and who ever answered me at the time) and pointed out that the exact same thing has happened again, so they are pulling the same dirty tricks.
I received an automated reply, but no actual feedback or call yet.
When did you sign up? Did they notify you of the change in pricing?I've been charged R1118 for my old black Friday special which was R549 and ended in November.
Interested to see what others were charged today
I have just upgraded to the 200 + 200 Gigs anytime deal for R399.
This the closest they have to the 500 + 500 Gigs deal from 3 years ago.

How do you contact ignition?I upgraded to Mobile internet gold for R149. Data was allocated but don't see minutes showing on the app. I can still make calls though. Not sure if anybody has had a similar experience.
This particular package of 60gb and 200min was a bit difficult to get (2023031 CT 00009). I found that only the guys at ignition was able to assist with this deal. The rest of the retention crew was of no help.
Is all of the data shareable? When I called retentions last Friday, I was transferred to ignition which at the time I wasn't aware of. Then for some reason my call was cut. So when I called back and asked to be put back onto the same agent, I was told it was ignition who was handling my upgrade.
This particular deal code was only available through them while the rest of retentions had no idea about this deal. Mind you it was a good couple calls I made with retentions to know this deal was only available through ignition.
You can try and ask them to put you through to ignition for assistance. Hope this helps.
