MTN Black Friday Discussions

Hi Everyone
My 24 months Black Friday contract taken in 2022 is expiring today. It should be expiring on Black Friday this year.Is anyone else experiencing the early expiration of Black Friday contracts?

Saw the same but i think the trigger is the last application of addons (i hope this is the case).

App shows all the addons still there.

Did u get a message about pricing change and contract going to month to month?
 
im in a bit of a predicament. mine expired last year. i dropped the ball and didnt renew. it continued for a few months... then around may this year, they change the entire contract to some basic option. still month to month... will i still be eligible for this years black friday upgrade deals?

yup...in same boat...hoping for similar contracts
 
Just checked with retentions now for a few of my contracts. Deals are not worth it:

15GB @ R99
20GB @ R119
100GB @ R159
200GB @ R299
and I'm currently getting 400GB @ R299

Business line retention:
5.5GB + 250min @ R179
and I'm currently on 22.5GB + 600min @ R159

Looks like I'm about to cancel

MTN's Black Friday promotions haven't started yet. Wait until Thursday, 14th November. Then try both Normal and Retention channel to find a suitable deal.

BF deals started on Friday 9/11

Consultant who assisted me last year called me this morning, but I'm hoping that YOU are right.

Don't worry they will get you next year on the price increase......there is no free lunch with MTN.....

That 200gig deal sounds pretty good to me.....can upgrade starting today, but I am going to hold out till either they offer me something or BF......otherwise I am willing to ride it out till the last minute.....generally speaking the longer you wait, the more likely they are to offer better deals.....

Right now, there aren't any free lunch with MTN, which sucks, most likely vodacom is going to beat them again this year.
 
Does anyone know if you can upgrade this black friday (sim only) before the contract expiry? Essentially renewing the term for a fresh contract period - perhaps with a better package.
