Yup. Double the price for the exact same R209 Yellow Essential deal in terms of minutes/data, instead at R399 for business customers on the Made For Business LC.

70 gig will be at least.....however the standard bf deals are crap, wouldn't waste my time with them

If you are upgrading you can try retentions with this deal "2024208 CT 00141 RET" which is 200gig for 299.00
it is a 100gig more and 30 odd cheaper, if new contract you are shyte out of luck.

That's the issue, I don't have an existing contract. Don't think I would qualify for the retention deals.

it is only for upgrades, still ain't too bad it is only 12 months which means you would be ready for the next bf

But personally because it is a new sign up I would go with this, vodacom has a 200gig bf deal for new sign ups at @349 it is 50 rand more but 100gig more.

does anyone know if you are on pre-paid can you still get a deal from retentions?
 
Also the number for the retentions, I called the 135 number. No option there

not that i know off

retentions is only for us with BF deals

we go to retentions

we collect deals

we deal with 10 different people until someone finds the right one and shares the persons name here

we fight with them also

we get deals that one knows off and the other doestn

we fight again

we get good deal

we repeat every time contract is up for renewal

There is no direct line to retentions that I am aware of, you have to speak to standard sales agent first who will then transfer you to retentions. You have to tell retentions what you want, sometimes you get lucky.

They will also try and undersell you it is worthwhile to push a little, you want 300gig for example ask for it, you want to fish a little they should bite and then offer you deals you qualify for. It is a bit of dance....

and no, retentions is only for existing postpaid customers,

See now, I would postulate that this is why they don't have a direct line - imagine every conversation turning out like an episode of pawn stars :p

However the system is rigged, well the call center at least....since the MTN system picks up your details when phoning from a contract phone, I used my mother's phone which has lapsed into a month to month contract, the call center system automatically transferred me to retentions without ever having spoken to the standard sales agent.

I did it intentionally, MTN does have a bias towards expired contracts, if you know how you can game the system you can often get better deals, I am pretty sure if I fished and pushed a little more I could have gotten a better deal, however 200gig is more than enough anything more would have been a waste. Since the upgrade on the 15th I only managed to use 34gig so far.......

My upgrade with retentions was done with in 25 minutes, credit check, approval the works, they even called back within 10 minutes from the initial call because the system was lagging, even the allocations was done before the call ended......

So yeah for a change I didn't run into issues....lol...

Only 34gb though? You lightweight, I average about 2tb per month:p
