Please enlighten me. Can the non promo data be shared with a pre-existing MTN contract number or it has to be a new number/prepaid number?

Im not too 100% sure but i think yes any MTN number

Just phoned MTN to ask about upgrading from a nonBF SIM. I was told that that isn't happening but if I have BF sims, they would be happy to upgrade those.
I have a contract that I need lots of data for... Otherwise I'll get a new sim on Friday I suppose.

I know with telkom you can change your number later on ..happend to my wife . Got a new number by mistake and they ported her new number to the old number within 2-3 weeks

Would MTN do that as well ? Take out a new bf deal with a new number. Old BF deal becomes prepaid

Would be nice to know. So hopefully if MTN don't allow us these new bf deals on the old 2016bf contracts they maybe will be some worth it telkom contract.

So I managed to get a "custom" deal.

20GB + 20GB Nighttime Express = R149
100 minutes bolt-on pm = R136

Total = R285 pm

I had a good experience with Telkom with my R599 uncapped LTE but that was because it just worked. If you need customer care they are useless...
