MTN Black Friday Discussions

20201117_115957.jpgLooking for where to turn off the bundles, I'm assuming it's this, but does that not mean you lose the data too? It says are you sure, you will not have access to the bundle any longer, or something to the effect.

Yeah so I couldn't even upgrade before my contract ended even if I wanted to because of the bogus R4970 bill.

Ok outstanding has moved from R4977 to R1320. An improvement but still don't know why it's so high and also got SMS saying credit check was approved. Very confused but slightly relieved

I think its hard to reverse this high bill because we already assigned the data/min for the period after our contract ends.

20201117_133828.jpgHow TF do these people work? My contract ends on the 23rd and will be renewed before then.

In fact if they had pulled finger like they did last upgrade, I'd have already renewed with another 24 month contract rather than a 6 month one.

How do you get your invoice? I haven't received an invoice from them since May.
Go to MTN app (not My MTN) it will bring up all your info, data, minutes, etc and about halfway it says bill so far, click that then go to the outstanding tab and it will offer to let you send you the invoice of your choice.

What a balls up. So I've just had a 2 hour phone call with MTN where I got offered a 300GB + 300GB for R499 contract which I said yes upgrade me. Failed the credit check because of the R4970 that's outstanding which is bullshit.

24 or 36 months?

I'm still not sure what going on though. Got SMS that credit check was declined then ten minutes later got SMS that it was approved. It hasn't updated anywhere that I can see that I'm on a new contract. How long does that take to show?

300 day 300 night
Yeah but I couldn't upgrade before my contact ended because of the bogus R5000 bill. It's insane.
I also had a bogus bill of almost R17 000. Went to the store and they said it's a mix-up due to their new shitty system (was actually around about the words the guy used). Took him 5 mins to sort out and I was on my way.

Unbelievable, I've been on the phone every day since Thursday except Sunday and was on for over two hours today and I'm not sure it's fixed 100% yet if it's even fixed.

In my case they sent me a bill, addressing me by my full name and so on, but the number on the bill was not my number. My phone and data service stopped working as well.

So somehow my name got linked to a completely different phone number/account.

EDIT: So yeah, I had no choice but to actually go to store.
