If anyone else manages to get more details on the mysterious 600min / 50gb deal at 259 please share.

Thanks man, retentions said would call me back, doesn't seem like the person I'm talking to knows you can give additional minutes on that deal, but will tell him it's possible so he should find out how

As per what @falcon786 said it needed approval which took 24hrs.
Hope you get it right as it is a super sweet deal.

Got some feedback from my consultant regarding the change of my package:

"managers have stopped approving the addition of extra minutes to packages"

I will try a different consultant to be certain.

I mailed her and said I was looking for data in a particular range, minutes and sms, for an approximate price. And this is what she was able to get for me. I'd suggest asking or provide an indication to her of what you're looking for.

Quick update.
Data is anytime, but not for data share.
Minutes is for all networks.

Well done to those who got it, now the rest of us will see what tomorrow holds for us.
 
They have a trick up the sleeve. There's probably the same or better deals which will be released tomorrow.

I have a similar thing now, i just upgraded to 500GB+500GB, my balance is now 200GB+ but when I go to the app's datashare section, it says i'm sharing 70GB with other people. But that's from the balance of my previous contract, not from the newly loaded bundle.
retentions lady told me only the 100GB promo isn't shareable, but looks like the whole thing might not be shareable
@airborne did you manage to share any of the 400GB?

When I called on 2 occassions (083 123 3667) they said they don't have this 500GB for R499 deal. Is this perhaps a business customer deal?

i'm not a business customer... so nope. but you have to call retentions department. not new sales or upgrade. at least that's what I did.

need an existing data contract. not new customers. Rentetions only people that can offer it.
Perhaps also prefer giving it to people previously on higher packages - like the customised offerings in the email people got?

So the lady who I was dealing with (not Portia) said the reason some clients were offered the extra mins is due things like number of years as MTN clients, number of active contracts, monthly spend and other factors, not sure how true that is perhaps Obi Wan @falcon786 and others who got the deal can shed some light...

I'm still datasharing off the old data
 
Do you guys think 500gig is enough for streaming movies and music?

Not every day but like maybe 3/4 times a week.
