MTN Black Friday Discussions

I tried to upgrade to this deal today, it wasn't available anymore. The agent knew about it, she knew the code but couldn't find it on the system anymore. Had to settle for the 150Gb R299.
On Friday the agent i spoke to also had difficulty finding the deal although I provided the code. Thankfully she eventually got it.

Eish, long call but was worth it.
all 4 contracts upgraded
1) 41Gb, 400 Mins, 200 sms, Note 10 Lite - R819 x 24 months
2) 16Gb, 550 mins, 50 sms, - R199 sim only , I added a Galaxy A51 so total R479 x 24 months
3) 11Gb, 150 mins, 50 sms, R79 sim only, I added a Galaxy A51 - so total R389 x 24 months
4) 21Gb, 50 Mins, 50 sms, sim only - R129 x 24 moths

Not as much value for money as previously, but meh, still the best options out there.

Has anybody received feedback on the Invoice issue that surfaces about 2 weeks ago (i guess we all went through the black Friday euphoria , not worrying about the brick wall that is going to hit us soon :p)

I did receive an sms that they are working on it, but my app give (Via account -> Bill)
Bill so far -> There was an error processing your request
Outstanding bill -> R2210 ( should be about R700, maybe R800 max)

since its on debit order, i believe it is probably too late already (unless the outstanding bill will only be debited end of Dec?)

My current bill and outstanding figure in the app is correct now it's only the invoice for November that still has a ridiculous R4970 amount still.

ouch! Same here (didn't think that previous bills would show anything important. November = R3491)

sigh -> guess calling them is the only way. getting a call reference where i will politely tell them that a debit order of that amount will be reversed

I thought they know about this and are resolving it already?!?! :/
2016 contract just dropped the additional data November 2018 -> and then they called me and upgraded (think it was closer to 30 Nov). Challenge is, contracts done over mobile does not give me any documentation to fall back on. Strange part is , the upgrade offers they emailed me in 2018 also specifically states that promotional data will fall away at the end of the contract period.

2018 contract, expiring now End of November -> they plan to charge me +- R800 for pro rata data for each line. This even though i upgraded two lines a week before contract renewal, and the third line three weeks before.

Dispute was escalated.

i am sorry, don't care how much SH*T this causes, i will do my utmost best to reverse any debits they pull on me for incorrect amounts. Told them that much over the phone as well... just received silence from the call center operator.

For A51s those prices are good.
Thanks to the peeps in this thread who shared what deals they received. I used the info here, told it to the retentions Champ and asked to add phones. Wanted the A71, but alas, not available, A51 will do.
No promo data on this?
Sorry, i should have been more clear....

The first deal in my post was offered on my existing contract.
1) 40Gb Promo 1,5Gb package, 200 Mins promo plus 200 Mins package, 200 sms, Note 10 Lite - R819 x 24 months (24 month made for me Bus)

The other deals I took were structured as follows:

2) R199 - 15.5GB Anytime Data, 550 Min, 500MB Night Data, 50 SMS's CT00019BF
3) R109 - 10.5GB Anytime Data, 500MB Night, 150 Min, 50 SMS’s - CT 00017 BF
4) R 129 - 21GB's Anytime Data, 50 Min, 50 SMS's - CT 00018 BF

Out of curiosity, what do you have now with them, that makes them ineligible.

I have a made for me package S with phone , but that has been running on month to month since July. Hoping when they call me, that I do qualify?
So they never called me, but I called them and got the package CT00019BF which is 500mb data and 50 mins, but with Bonus 15GB/ 500 minutes. Took the two year contract at R199 as opposed to R149 . Since my company gives us all R100 a month for cell data, this is great. Went down from an old Made for Me Medium (150mins/1GB) contact costing me R250 a month without handset.

She confirmed only the data in the package i.e 50 min/500mb can be shared and the bonus data/minutes are not carried to the next month but that won't bother me.

Now I can finally listen to BBC radio in the car while driving .. woohoo!


Edit: took 95 mins . Longest call I ever had. Surprised my phone stayed connected for so long.
 
With regards to being overcharged by MTN for anything.
Just change your payment to EFT.
I also got a huge bill for November, but no worries as I pay via EFT.

Please advise if you are looking to upgrade these lines? As all the discounted billing falls away.

I applied for it on Friday. The sales agent didnt capture my details correctly, so the vetting dept didnt accept the application.

Spoke to vetting today and sorted out the issue. Said the sale agent has to now load the application again.

hope they manage to do that.

anyone else manage to sign up for the 500GB data deal at R499 today.?

After struggling for days to upgrade multiple business numbers if I've learned one thing you are at the mercy of the sales agent. If still available that's a bummer! I wanted the 500GB. Let me know if you got it.

Yeah I realised that. Had to speak to a few sales agents till I got through to one that was raving about the 500GB deal.
Unfortunately I got through just before 5pm. His kids had arrived home and he rush through the application.
Captured my bank account name incorrectly which caused vetting to reject the application.
All sorted with vetting now, but hoping sales can still load this deal tomorrow.
