MTN Black Friday Discussions

Is anybody else's outgoing calls not working after upgrading? It's been 5 days now and I can't make calls or even phone 135 for assistance.

Datashare is the main reason I took out this offer :(
Retentions 135 just confirmed to me that 100GB is available to Datashare on the 500GB contract (2020991 CT 00024 BF)

the R149x36 550 minutes + 15.5 GB + 500 MB night (2020991 CT 00019 BF) is also still available

waiting time was 31 minutes which I think is good for a Friday afternoon

Has anyone managed to get a Black Friday Retention deal as anew contract?
negatory - I got through to a normal MTN sales agent & he confirmed that only Retentions / Cancellations (135 option 1 option 3) can offer these 2020991 CT 000xx BF deals for existing contracts

you can however ask for the following deals from the normal sales guys:

150 GB data; zero minutes or SMS @ R299 x 36

400 GB data + 400 minutes @ R399 x 36

60 GB data + 3600 minutes + unimited SMS @ R799 x 36

Is your data share working now?

I don't have a problem with the 100GB my issue is it used that bundle first which is a problem.

The previous contract used the share bundle last.

I haven't heard about that deal, is it open to anyone (ie no existing contract) and when is the promo running till?

The base data should always be the datashare and the promo data has always been used first.

Can you actually confirm you were running datashare on the native 500gb data and once you were 100gb down the datashare stopped working?

Looks like these contracts may have some issues.

Well it was sharing 100GB bundle and previous contract only 50GB was shareable.

So no it wasn't sharing the big bundle but the promotional 100GB.

When I initially took the contract I was told that I would be able to share 400GB since it’s a mymtnchoice 400 deal.

Now I’ve been told that data share cannot be used on this deal

400gb + 400min for R399.
Is that for real or a typo. Probably 40gb?

seems like the old 2016 BF data is still being share (else it is pro rata data for part of the new month) - will probably only see in January what MTN allows to be shared on this deal in a full month

Not a typo - that is what I was offered by a sales agent on 135 Upgrades - I suppose it is based on each client's profile (have been with MTN for over 20 years). Nevertheless I decided to rather go with the deal that Retentions offered me.

I guess it is based on client profile - and they did not give details until when (maybe 9 Dec which is the date until which their 2020 Black Friday deals have been extended)

That is how I have it as well - only Base data sharable and never the Promotional data. Won't rule out a deurmekaarspul in their systems - it's happening quite a lot of late. #REMAKE2020

My BF upgrade not reflecting yet when I do a balance check. Surely it should be activated by now? Do I need to call 135 again?

got an unexpected call from mtn..upgraded...lovely..looks like they running through the contracts that haven't upgrade yet for the 2018 BF

I think they are very serious about retaining previous Black Friday customers , I also got a call asking to upgrade but it was few days after I upgraded so when he accessed the package he said you already upgraded and I had a good laugh

I upgraded 2 weeks ago. For a week thereafter I lost all internet services. That was finally fixed.

Still today I'm on my 2018 package and the bundles expire at midnight tonight. I have spoken to the store consultant countless times but still the issue persists.

My application is still showing as incomplete with the inbound sales department.
Has anyone got an email address for MTN inbound sales so that I can send them the documents?

I’ve upgraded 2 lines last week Friday (27/11) @ retentions. Only 1 line has been renewed but no pro rata minutes and data have been loaded.
The 2nd line hasn’t been upgraded as yet. I called in yesterday and tried to renew again and the system says error. Renewal pending.
anyone else experiencing any of this?
In the same situation. Think they overloaded. Called yesterday and I am supposed to expect email today

For all those who upgraded to the 500+500gb deal, what deal is showing on the app?

Mines showing the MTN 5G Unlimited package and its showing unlimited data. I just hope the consultant never made a mistake as the price for this package is around R1250.
