Not particularly exciting. Probably will have to do the Retentions route again.

These deals are only based on your usage, deals offered to me will be way different.

Can you post

Can you post the link? I don't get any emails but I have a black friday deal

Fair, but I'd still be paying more than what I'm currently paying for less data (even if I don't use 50GB, I like knowing it is there, and I do occasionally use waay more when I go on holiday).

No email for me (yet) - today is the last day of that awesome deal I am on - need to be good until I get me next contract. Don't think I can live on 50 mins + 1GB :)

I am thinking the Vodacom black friday deals will look way better than MTN this year

Well if MTN still has that DataShare thing going and one doesn't need massive amounts of data and doesn't mind sharing data with friends/family then it works out much cheaper than any Vodacom contract.

Interesting... Today when I should have lost my black Friday bundles (so only should have 50 mins/1GB)

It's given me the full allocation as per original BF deal . Let's see if it disappears..Screenshot_2022-11-12-09-22-17-636_com.mtnsar3.jpg

It should be forfeited when we upgrade closer to black Friday. Irrc in 2020 we also got the final month allocation then it was forfeited and credited pro rata for the new contract for that month.

The first full allocation was Dec 2022. And counting 24 full allocations from there will mean Nov 22 will be the last. I'm just guessing though

I just spoke to MTN retentions department.

They are running BF deals this year.

I just upgraded to a similar deal that ran 2 years ago.

525 Anytime minutes
17GB of data

R179 pm for 24 months
or
R149 pm for 36 months

There are some other deals available as well:

125 Anytime minutes
12GB of data

R99 for 24 months
or
R79 for 36 months

My line dropped after that, but I managed to upgrade to the 525 minutes, 17GB data

@tonnies can you share the contact info of the person you talked to.

Just phone 135 from your MTN phone, choose upgrades or cancellations from the options (think it's option 3), and then choose cancellations. You will be put through to the retentions department, and anyone should be able to assist you. Just tell them you had a great deal and you hope to get something similar

Bull dust. I am on a 36 month 300gig BF deal...... you do indeed get 36month BF deals. My deal is from this year as well. The also offer 12 month BF deals as well, just got some deals via email.

So be perfectly honest, MTN is taking the piss as these deals sucks balls, take off another 50% and maybe it starts looking a like a deal.
