525 Anytime minutes
17GB of data

R179 pm for 24 months
or
R149 pm for 36 months

There are some other deals available as well:

125 Anytime minutes
12GB of data

R99 for 24 months
or
R79 for 36 months

My line dropped after that, but I managed to upgrade to the 525 minutes, 17GB data

That's the thing. At the time I was considering getting a handset on BF contract and requested a quote over 36 months. Turns out they didn't have stock of the model I was looking for. That's the first and last time I mentioned 36 month on the 3 BF deals I renewed at the time. I just assumed the contracts, by default, would run over 24 months, like they've always done...

Anyway....

I intentionally took 36 months. Saves me the hassle of an upgrade sooner because it's still a good deal today...
 
Whoa, for the online upgrades in 2020 we were wheeling and dealing in getting improved contracts, we were sharing deal codes and methods for us to call the call centre and get them to bump up the deal to what someone else had. They were offering the weak deals and we were sharing the better deal codes here.

I remember that asking me where I heard about the deal code, they apparently checking with the supervisor etc. 36 months - it was clear as they spoke meticulously to confirm what was being offered. Although in the next days some people scored better deals too for the R.
 
The 17GB one isn't half bad... but wouldn't mind another option or two :)

I got an SMS saying that MTN's BF deals are coming 18 Nov - but sounds like that's for the general public.

To my understanding, that looks like a deal specific to prepaid customers valid only during the dates advertised.
I stand to be corrected though
