MTN Black Friday Discussions

Hi all. I took out 36 month BF contract in 2020. I still have a year left on the contract.
Is it possible to cancel this with maybe a small cancellation fee, and apply for something better this BF

dammit and im paying R499 for a 500+500

so 150 over 12 months is the same as R2000

not saving but getting a better deal

but do you know if the sims are still shareable

cos my 500 +500 i can share sims

I gave MTN a call. The lady said the only black Friday deal for new contracts currently is a 12 month plan with 9 gigs (7 anytime + 1 social + 1 youtube) and 50 mins for R199 a month. Doesn't seem like the best deal. Will give them a call again on Friday to see if any other deals will come up for new contracts.

Yes that's the one that I am on currently as well. Might as well wait till next year. However, I do need to phone again and see if the cancellation fee may be less since it is a sim only contract.

Sharing sims meaning having two sims on the same number? I don't know about that actually... Can one have sim share and data share activated simultaneously at the moment?
 
Are these deals in store as well or just via the retention number?

Can one take a device deal later on or is this sim only deals?

Previous years you could add a phone for a slight premium. Maybe Ill call again and a different agent will say differently.

Edit to add another deal I was told about this morning (23 Nov 2022) by Retentions.
Apparently the above are RETENTION only deals, cannot be taken as a new contract, only an upgrade to an existing contract.

i got about 6 sims running off my 500gb

it works ..dont ask me how

You can check this on the MTN app. I am sharing with some other numbers as well. The good thing is that the shareable data also rolls over, so it's quite often over 400GB that's being shared.

Yup each month I start of with 800gb shareable.
