MTN Black Friday Discussions

I'm confused by all this deadline stuff...contracts just used to expire and go month to month...even BF contracts...
The issue is that the discounted promo data/min won't apply any longer after the deadline so you will be billed normal rates.

Do we not have any roll over data to use after the contract end? I am sure we all have not used all our data

Anybody upgraded to the 200GB for R399 package? Is the data shareable?
The lady at retentions told me its not shareable at all, even though the website says shareable to max 5 mtn numbers.

Maybe someone on this thread can help me.
I ordered a Superflex deal on 16 Oct. DSV has been at my place 4 times now for delivery. Every time they are here they request the OTP from their device and it takes like 5min for the OTP to arrive on my phone. By then it has expired. Rinse repeat.

I have spent an hour on the phone with MTN trying to find someone who can instruct DSV to do what they call a "Manual" delivery. One that does not require OTP or biometrics. I have paid the R299 upon placing the order. They don't even pick me up on their system as the sim has not been provisioned yet.

Total fsckup. I would rather just cancel the fscking thing and get a Melon sim.

I’ve moved my 2020 BF number, which I’ve had since 1997, to prepaid.

Happily running on R200/month of Vodacom prepaid. Signal during loadshedding was the clincher

I emailed her and she called me back to discuss options.

No new package was offered other than what was already posted in the thread, "best" was the 150 + 150 @ R399. So I don't think there will be BF specific retention deals.

My contract ends on the 11th so I asked about upgrading to some small package and then upgrading again on BF when those deals come out. She said I can do that but there will be a R150 charge to upgrade each time.

If I don't upgrade, the contract jumps to R1299/month (this is the 400 + 400 BF 2020 deal).

I'm going to "upgrade" to the 200GB @R399 month-month deal that's on the app instead of wasting R300 on fees.

From the Ts&Cs, that should have no upgrade fees for migrating to a VLC deal if something better pops up on BF. The data from the plan should also carry over to the new contract:

Hi did you upgrade to the 200GB @ R399 deal? Are you able to share data to other numbers?

did anyone get told there is a R150 upgrade fee ?

apparently this is normal now and even if done early there is a fee ...weird ..always had upgrades as free

i said let me do it now and can always query it after
We were told that R150 fee is if your contract came with a device and you're doing an early upgrade.

It's anytime data, non promotional. It should all be shareable. Need to confirm though. MTN changes their t & c so often even their own reps have no flipping clue.
