@rodga

Yeah gents

Ive spoken to like 3 departments, retentions, upgrades, and new sign up, unfortunately they not interested in what they've given us all these years and are just accepting that we cancel.

I signed up for a similar deal back in 2018, 750min+750min; 25GB data @ R169
Currently on 500min; 25GB @ R208 (exp Nov 2025)

Any deals that are similar to the R208 I'm currently on that and need to upgrade.

Holding out until next weekebd.

In case , MTN doesn't come to the party, any other good voice/data deals on the other network(s)?

Telkom has some nice data packages?

And the nice thing is you can always get multi sims on the contract to share the data. Can have a total of 9 multi sims on the data package. If you live in a town with good telkom signal it's worth a shot.

Anyone managed to get the Business Black Friday deals. I cannot get through to the business contact centre and the retention deals are terrible this year.

I've just submitted cancellation.
The deals are swak
Thanks, I see just how crap the deals are, they finally emailed me all their deals and now I am also looking for alternatives.
My last deal was for sim only, I got 20GB & 300min for R129.00, it was a retention offer. Nothing remotely close this year.

How did you manage to get them to send you all their deals? Assuming they're in spreadsheets, could you attach it here?

Thanks @madeinjapan . That helps loads

Question 1:

Could one move from a personal package to the a business package (what would the requirements even be?)

The deal

202410EBF1001

which is R299 for 24 months gives total of 300 min, 500sms and 8.5GB which would be more than enough for me. I know their superflex deal for the same price gives unlimited mins/sms + 10GB, but it would force me to switch to prepaid and I need to use my phone overseas, which as far as I recall was like impossible to activate/use before and not needing to use it. All I need is incoming sms in anycase when out of country.

Question 2:
When I upgrade , can I convert my existing number which is a Madeforu S package to a data only package (contract) and then just buy minutes/sms or better yet just airtime which doesn't expire on a monthly basis but keep my number?

In that case, I would do this deal
202410EBR1103

which is 10GB data a month for 24 months for R99 and I would spend about R150 in airtime a month for those legacy calls , sms's

TIA

Hey Ted

Sorry I don't work for MTN, I have no idea, only reason I am on the business contract is because the company I work for, enrolled us.

I am sure the contact centre can help you but be prepared for 10 - 15min wait before your call is answered - 083 123 1800

Retensions called me back now, apparently new deal.

520 minutes (or 550 can't remember) 15gb data.

R210

They're called the Yellow Essential Plans - there's that one and 3 others with varying data/minute bundle sizes - a special set of plans created for Black Friday and only available through Retentions. Actually relatively decent value for personal users, ie not on a business profile, looking for 24 month SIM-only packages.

Do you perhaps know the data/minutes of the 3 other plans

Was told:

125 minutes, 10GB data @ R119
75 minutes, 20GB data @ R139
525 minutes, 15GB data @ R209
and I think there was a bigger one too, but I didn't go further.

Asked a couple of times if each of the options has a different name, and was told no, they're all just called "Yellow Essential" Plans with differing bundle sizes, specially created for Retentions Black Friday only.
