MTN Business outage - DDoS attack

Hi,

Just FYI - MTN Business is currently experiencing a rather large DDoS attack affecting most of their Gallo Manor infrastructure. If you're hosting there you will see large amounts of packet-loss. Their call-center is overwhelmed, but after about 50 mins I got through to somebody that could give me the DDoS snippet of information.

Attack started at 4:40AM GMT+02 and is still ongoing.

Update: Connectivity was restored at 7:20 GMT+02.

I also fell sorry for any Provider who is a target of a DDoS attack.
Depending on the size of it, it gets to a point where it's very difficult to mitigate.

Case in point is Linode earlier this year where it went on for weeks.

Hi,

Connectivity was restored at 7:20 this morning. Outage of 2 hours, 40 minutes. MTN promised to supply an outage report - still waiting for it.

I was at MTN data centre around 5:30, i found other engineers there coming to check their servers. Gallo manor Data centre has experienced bad down times.
