mtn wants to buy afrihost, who exclusively resells MTN bandwidth? ummm wut?

If that happens I'm canceling my accounts with them

Right there with you. first thing i will do is get the ticketing team from afrihost to get me feedback on an issue that MTN has been silent about for 2 months. i proved using Afrihost data logs and my personal data logs off my phone that MTN billed me incorrectly for OOB data (I got a bill but I was on Afrihost at the times MTN said I was using OOB data) no matter who I speak to the moment I send them the afrihost and phone data logs, I don't hear a word from them. because MTN are thieves

as soon as that is announced officially I am canceling every single Afrihost account I have and moving to anyone else. a cell phone contract through MTN is already too much. as much as I love Afrihost I do not want anything more to do with anyone associating with mtn on a professional level. so Afrihost buying data from MTN and selling to me is fine, but MTN selling me their own data dressed up as Afrihost is not ever gonna happen.

well, they have a pretty good idea how users feel... if this affects the service levels and costs negatively, they'll quickly see subscribers dwindle.
i hope not, been happy with the service and costs

Lets hope if the rumours are true that MTN is buying the talent and not the subscribers. Buying the subscribers would be terrible... But an aquihire might be good. Imagine what the Afrihost team can do with the kind of capital and scale MTN can bring to the table?

Everyone jumping to conclusions. Afrihost could keep its independence and nothing changes except who the dividends cheques get signed to.

Even if that's the case, I don't want to enrich MTN or their shareholders any more than necessary

I think Afrihost should take over MTN. That would be something that we all can get excited about.

Afrihost has like R400 million plus in turnover... Gian is gonna be reeeeeeeeeeeech man!

congrats to them though

Imagine the kind of damage MTN's "Customer relations" and management can do to Afrihost...
