MTN cautions service disruption

Does the encryption used by Telegram, and lately supposedly by Whatsapp not cover this deep packet inspections?
Regarding encrypted data, they can only pick-up source and destignation. Regarding protocol sniffing, they can attempt to make decision based on protocol, as lower network level layers packets are not encrypted.

I think they target Whatsapp voice, this should be easy job. Whatsapp only say about encrypting messages, nothing about voice. Of course, if Whatsapp wanted to do it right, it would be similiar to Skype: many hotels tried to block Skype and eventually they learnt how hard it is. But Whatsapp is a different story, it is rather marketting trick than a serious approach.

I really think MTN should explain what they are going to use the system for because the sinister possibilities (which go against net neutrality and privacy) seem more obvious and do-able, whilst the one's they mention sound either technically or legally dubious.

In fact, they need to explain why the heading should NOT be:
I think we need clarity on the legality of this. To comply with regulations should be permissible but if they are going to routinely inspect packet contents that would be a privacy violation.

Big Brother is watching, you are never alone. Just wonder if they have enough capacity to keep the logs of all their subscribers, unless if they'll use a targeted approach
