My contract is due for an upgrade. The problem is my current limit is R246p/m and the phone I want is R300p/m. How likely are they to increase my limit in order for me to upgrade to a new handset?
And is upgrading a same day deal? Will I need to bring extra documents?

Well have you been paying your contract without trouble?
I'm sure they'll give you the R300 you want.

I don't recall any debit orders that bounced for the duration of the contract.

No reason they wont give it to you unless to have bad debt or bad credit.
Most stores don't ask for extra docs - just you ID (proof of res if needing a sim swap) - and if they have stock you will get the phone and the contract will change next month.
though i find it easier to call MTN direct and do the upgrade telephonically - they deliver the phone to you.

I can't do it via the phone because I'm always on the move and never at the office so they can't deliver it to me unless someone can accept it on my behalf.

don't think they will allow it - but they do try to schedule a time but if the phone you want is something that they have stock off you can go to a store.
I just happen to want phones that had limited stock so delivery worked out better for me

Hmm... I'll try going in store first. Maybe I might get lucky and it'll all be done at once.
