MTN and Afrihost subscribers are reporting downtime of data services, and problems with some support channels.

Ya we have a private APN with MTN and 200 plus sim cards country wide and all went down at 1:20pm

MTN's signal has been cr@p lately and calls are cut off and you dial but never get through often.

I actually spoke too soon it came back online for 5min for us then went off again.

What frustrates me is that they dont mail important clients and say "Its down but working on it" I have to check MyBB to make sure its not a problem on our side.

Well if you want to get technical, if the data has an expiry date, there should be some sort of compensation.

Much like Sony does when there is a Playstation Plus outage, they extend the PS+ period by a day. I couldn't care less, but I'm just saying. Consumers are worse off as a result of any outage when they have purchased bundles that expire.

Is this affecting voice calls at all? Those of us at work with yello sim cards are suddenly getting dropped calls and degrading voice quality.

UPD on New Doorfontein, breakout/lan connectivity issues, ISP SERVICES - MPLS/INTERNET, Connectivity, SMC/00005104756, MTN - CNOC ISP, Open, 2016-05-05 02:07:16 PM Please note we had a power failure in New Doornfontein which affected all devcies, they are currently recovering and all services should be restoring. Currently there is an issue affecting Randburg which we are currently investigating. CNOC ISP
