MTN Data Technical Thread

I hope someone can help me over here. MTN will let me know when they have a solution but 7 calls later and I'm stuck.

I have a motorola v6 maxx on MTN. I have got the WAP and MMS settings. the problem is that i can receive video calls but i cannot make them. also, i cant stream anything via video streaming. I have went through the *123# way to download the streaming settings but it says my phone doesnt support streaming but it does. I really want the streaming to work so I can watch the Supersport mobile channel. So how do I go about activating the Video Streaming. Phoning 173 isn't a solution. Thank you in anticipation.

How old is ur sim card? is it a 16k? 32k? or 3G sim?

Been there, got the T-Shirt. They still coming back to me. The help desk guy said when he finds out, he will let me know. This was at least 5 weeks ago.

If I had known I was gonna go through all of this, I should have left my number on Vodacom and not ported and instead have upgraded to a vlive phone.

FastLink E620 Fax Capabilities

Hi

I need to acquire a data card that supports CSD fax. In essence I need to able to fax to a PSTN / Telkom fax machine using software such as WinFax from my laptop.

Could anyone indicate whether the FastLink E620 supports this?

I've tried a couple of cards that supposedly support fax class 1 (AT+FCLASS=1) but couldn't get them to dispatch faxes successfully. No problem with my SIM or the network as it works from both my Siemens TC35 terminal and an old Samsung E800 (both obviously supporting CSD fax).

Any recommendations welcome please.

N95 update to 20.0.015

Last Friday, on connecting my N95, product code 0546858, a pop-up announced that the firmware version 20.0.015 was (finally) available for my phone.

Using Nokia Software Updater to attempt to download the 114MB file is unsuccessful ... bombs out continually.

I recall I had the same issue when upgrading from the OEM version 11.x.xxx to 12.x.xxx and resolved this by downloading the new firmware direct from the web, to PC, and then installing to phone.

But I've forgotten where I downloaded the new version from. I've Googled but no luck.

Anyone know where the latest 20.0.015 firmware version can be downloaded from without having to use Nokia Software Updater?
 
is there a way to track a private number call from my cellphone?

I need to find this out asap! some1's stalking me:(
 
Anyone got any advice on how to connect a Huawei E272 "Vodafone Branded" Modem to MTN's Network - ive been running into walls ever since i got it. from what i hear, Vodafone Modems are not network locked to Vodacom, but i'm not so sure....
I wanted a MTN E220, but no MTN shops have stock, NONE!

The guy at the vodashop told me it's def. not network locked....

MTNDD, any advice? have u been testing/working on this modem b4?
 
Failed to create RAS entry

Hi

I have an E620 data card and i am using Windows Vista operating system.
When using the mtn interface to connect i get an error "Failed to create RAS entry" Does anybody know a fix to this problem.

I believe there may be a fix for Vista. Which firmware/software are you using?

just create a dial up through windows
start
control panel
network and sharing center
set up a new connection or network
set up a dial up connection
choose the hauwei modem
phone number *99#
no username
no password
connection name
datacard connection or bob which ever you'd prefer
connect

but there is a firmware available to download

but if you don't have internet access the dial up thru windows best first option

are you running XP or Vista

setup a dial up connection thru windows... worked for a friend of mine using the Vodafone branded e220.
