Anyone else experiencing this or is it just a local problem? I can connect to the MTN network, but can't get any data in or out this morning (July 9).

Using the same connection details as always: 'internet' as the APN. But although the Dashboard allows me to connect (with a good-quality signal) my e-mail client is unable to access my ISP's POP server (MWeb), and my browser won't pull up anything at all. Been that way all morning. Popping a Voda sim into the datacard (as now to send this posting) works fine, so the problem is not on my machine -- has to be either local or at the MTN servers?

same problem in Krugersdorp.
data seems to be going out but nothing coming in.
internet apn
Still worked great last night.

2 pm and it's working again, using the trusty old 'internet' apn. But this raises an interesting point -- is there any performance gain in choosing which of the two available MTN apn's to use, internet or myMTN? Would be interested to hear!

There is no performance gain, both are public APNs and there is no priority in the routing.

well my GF's will still not work, funny thing is insert a different mtn sim in and it works, now how does that work, cause she was using gprs on her cell for the last year

Hey,im having a preoblem today, all day iu am able to connect but no data recieves,i tried sim in my phone and after bout 5 - 10mins i get data server error.I liv in Durban.

Hi
If you are still having issues on the GPRS Network in KZN, please PM me with your details, cell number that you're using to connect with, apn as well as an alternate number so I can contact you.

I've been having problems connecting since the weekend.
the software shows connected on HSDPA, Skype works, but opening a webpage just gives me the finger.
This is on default myMTN apn.
If I switch to internet apn, connection seems fine
I have always been using myMTN apn, dunno what the prob is at the moment.
I have a colleague who also has connection problems with their MTN connection at home, so I've advised them to try internet apn, see how it goes.
does the dial number make any difference? (using *99#, but have seen other variants)

Hi CeeBee
PM me your dialling number and I will try and help. I'm also trying to contact someone in KZN with this problm so that I troubleshoot. The *99# number should be standard, it used to allow for different APN uses, e.g. *99*1# used to be internet apn etc. There is a difference between the internet and mymtn apn.
