MTN eSim availability.

Seems esim still isn't supported on MTN

Had to cancel a contract today because it doesn't work with Apple Watch
Did you end up moving to Vodacom? I’m currently on telkom but the contract in ending in 2 months. I’ve preordered the cellular series 8 Apple Watch and now I’m investigating who I’m going to have to move to so that I can use cellular on the watch

Just go to a Telkom store they will give you an e-sim fast like lightning.

Strange… I have eSim for MTN in my iPhone and eSim activated for MTN on my Apple Watch. Apple watch eSim is actually set up and activated yourself (not call centre or store) by following the on-screen set up steps on you Apple Watch… You sign into your MTN account while you set it up as part of the steps and it gets activated there. Contract only though

I've got a contract with MTN and I'm thinking of getting the new Samsung watch 5 pro LTE (eSim version).
I spoke to a consultant at the MTN store at the Mall of Africa yesterday and he said that if I link my number to the watch, the watch becomes the primary device and if it's off I won't be receive any calls on my phone.
This doesn't make sense to me, is this how it is working for the people that activate their watches?

What the consultant states is not true! Your phone is automatically the primary device if you activate the e-sim on-line while setting up your Apple watch. Mine was activated within minutes without going into an MTN store.

Tested both devices independantly and both receive and make calls while the other is switched off.
