Mtn esim for Ipad

Hi

Hope someone can assist me. I’ve bought a MTN prepaid esim to use in my Ipad 11th gen, but it doesn’t connect to the network. In ‘general about settings’ it shows network is MTN but unknown number. If I register the esim on my iphone it works 100% and shows the number and connects without issue. Even tried it on a different ipad but same issue.

Haven’t developed the patience yet to ask MTN for a resolution. I’ve read somewhere that MTN will be selling esims online somewhere in 2026 so I think I’m going to wait for that option and see if there’s a better result.

Thanks for the advice but the reason for MTN is datashare.

yeah also need MTN for datashare. They gave me an prepaid esim, but wont generate a number.

OK sorted out. 1. Delete esim from ipad. 2. Add esim to iPhone assuming you have one, as secondary sim. 3. Make primary for data and voice line, use a bit and number activates and shows up. 4. Delete esim from iphone. 5. Add to ipad. You scan the same original QR code each time. Works perfect and datasahre active on iPad. If it helps someone.

Great advice I could never get an MTN esim activated on my iPad. Perphaps your way is the only way!
