I took out an contract with an LTE phone from MTN a week ago. I have been struggling with them to get my 30GB loaded as advertised. Each time I phone them, the reply is wait 24 hours. I phoned them again just now and now I am being told to wait 3 working days. They are pathetic.

The promotion is finished according to their website: https://www.mtn.co.za/pages/website_legal.aspx?termsid=583

1. Introduction
MTN introduces the Free LTE 30 GB Data Bundle Promotion where new customers that sign-up for a MTN contract (My MTNChoice, My MTNChoice Top Up & MTN AnyTime Top Up) with LTE device (handset, tablet, router & modem), will get 30GB Free for 1 month (the “Promotion”).

2. Promotion Period
2.1 The Promotion will be available from 15 October 2015 until 31 March 2016 “Promotion Period”).

I was told when I upgraded that the 30GB was valid for the month of purchase/upgrade. So if you purchased it on the 27th March you had to use all the "free" data by the 31st March.

No it is valid for 30 days from activation. Mine was activated this morning, and the expire date
I get from dialing *141*1# is 5/5/2016. Which is correct.

It's easy to use 30GB in one month, quit complaining....
Definitely not easy to use....

Got similar deal for my wife in November last year. For the next 30 days trying to download something was a nightmare. Download speed was down to a trickle. I think in total only 1.3GB was used.

What pissed me off though was that once the month for the 30GB had passed, download speeds on her cell suddenly shot up so drastically. I did not even bother complaining because it would have been a waste of my breath. Nothing would've been done so yeah.....

Not so easy....
