Hi Guy's

I have a MTN Fastlink E156G that don't want to connect to 3G.
Its not the network because all my other devices gets 3G.
MTN website say it supports 3G.

Hope you can help thanks.

What happens if you force 3g-only in your dashboard or MDMA?

Hi Guy's

I have tried both 3g preffert and 3g only no luck.
I have tried other laptop's and other software that I recieved with my autopage stick stil no 3g.
Both my autopage stick and cellphone gets 3g on mtn.
Is there any other settings I can check?

Now you say it works on MTN. On which network you are trying this modem? It should pickup 3G on any network, except CellC.

Hi sajunky

Its not working on MTN 3G only gprs and edge. I am trying only MTN no other networks. All my other devices gets MTN 3G.

Like Voldemorf, I am not familiar with any other settings. Take it to MTN for checking.
Edit: Did you play with band selection in MDMA? It can happen if you disabled 2100MHz band. Solution: restore default settings - Automatic (all bands).

Use revo uninstaller and remove the software and drivers completely
Then try this
http://www.mwconn.net/download_mwconn.html

Just install it, select Huawei and then do a umts only search.
Remember after you uninstalled the driver and windows reboot just click on the cancel button when the driver wizard pops up. Mwconn works without the drivers

Hi Guy's

It must be something with MTN because if I put a VODACOM sim in that MTN modem I get 3G.
I tried it in two different towns I get both MTN and Vodacom 3G so nothing wrong with the modem.
I have tried the bands separately and all bands automatically no luck I have tried three different MTN sims no 3G.
So much for trying to help someone I think its time to give up thanks for all the suggestions.

Fine, but do you remember what you wrote in your first message?
