For a while now my internet service provider has been mtn fixed lte through Axxess as we don't get fiber in our area yet. For the most part my speeds never go beyond 19mbps and was told the mtn deal is upto 100mbps speeds according to the capacity of the towers around me and not a guaranteed 100mbps.
Strangely though when it's holiday season and we have an influx of holiday makers in our area my speeds jump up to 80mbps, as soon as holiday season is over my speeds are back to 16mbps. This basically tells me the capacity of the towers is there but mtn is actually throttling my speeds intentionally. I logged a fault on the 17th July and according to them they are still trying to sort it out.
Is the mtn lte not a scam then?
In a desperate attempt I have now upgraded my account to a 200mbps speed and I now get 13mbps.
Has anyone had any luck with mtn lte deal or is it just false advertising and a scam.
