MTN Frontrow Free Data

I should add that you should have a small data bundle active on the sim you are using, otherwise you will run into some trouble, mtnfrontrow makes brief connections to mircosoft and I think google as well, doesn't use much data few kilobytes at a time.

These connections are to servers outside of mtnfrontrow and isn't zero rated, if you have no data or airtime available, content will not play.Data usage in this regard, a 100mb bundle should do the trick, but I doubt you will even use a full 100mb if you use mtnfrontrow daily.

I basically have a dedicated LTE sim for mtnfrontrow, dedicated data sim.

Email them @[email protected], they were very helpful in assisting me, unlikely you will get any quick support over weekends.But I am in the same boat as you, getting the same error.

Email them step by step what you are doing.
As well as the device and which android version you are using.
 
Anyone else experiencing issues with the app! Every time I pause the video playing for 10 minutes upon resuming the pause 2 videos playing. The current video and one from the begin of the same video or older playback of another movie

Kindly note due the limitations or constraints certain devices the service for FrontRow will not be supported . Below are list of supported devices and browser you can use:

Google Chrome 39 or 40 (41+ is no longer supported), alternate browser required
Safari 4.0,
iOS Safari 3.2, and
Android Browser 2.1.

I got a MTN prepaid sim on Saturday.
Using it in an iPad 2 on mtn 3G network.
Subscribed for 119 per month credit card.

Movies are working quite well.

Oddly, I have streamed it to my Linux box, and and Huawei P6...

The quality is exactly the same as vidi and showmax at 720p, that said, frontrow, has automatic bitrate adjustment, pending connection speed/ and quality, it's entirely possible to view frontrow on a 2G connection, while the quality may not be great it is considerably better than what vidi or showmax can offer, as far as I am aware vidi and showmax do not automatically adjust bit rate.

In fact if you don't meet their min connection speed your shyte out of luck.Should also be stated that while the quality at the start of any content played starts poorly it quickly adjust the bit rate with in a few seconds to match the connection speed, to the point that not a single video had to buffer content being played.

Simply put MTN pwns showmax when it comes to bit rate and buffering of content, even dstv now spends a fair amount of time buffering and at times there were noticeable stream buffers issues.Not only that MTN gives fair warning before playing any video, that the connection speed is slow or of poor quality, may result in a lower bit rate and quality. I don't see showmax providing such information, their app would rather buffer to oblivion than actually pointing out you connection is too weak.

Definitely some thing showmax can learn from MTN

I really don't get were the quality is different to the other 2 as all 3 only provide 720p, had zero quality issues with frontrow.

Have to admit:
No major issues with buffering.

Mtn sim is connecting to 3G on ipad2.

This is good value for money spent.
 
Think I should give this a go, looks like it works nicely.
 
But here’s the really fantastic news: new and existing subscribers on any mobile network can now watch unlimited TV series and movies on MTN FrontRow Club for only R99 per monthuntil 31 January 2016. MTN subscribers also still enjoy free, unlimited data for streaming.
 
Can someone be kind to test XXX state of the union after the 1 minute 9 second mark my phone freezes. Just wanna confirm if this is the movie. Making use of a smartphone

Disappointed that they discontinued Stargate Atlantis! My favourite TV series.
 
Sharks! I've freeking rooted my phone. Must unroot next week...

Will try now on the PC albeit.
 
Anyone tried/have it working with there Kodi/Openelec box?
