MTN Frontrow Free Data

Has anyone managed to use this on a phone with output (e.g. HDMI) to a TV?

Trying this on an LG G2, works perfectly on the phone screen every time, but
  • Via Miracast, the video does not play and I get a message stating that the video could not be played
  • Via a SlimPort adapter to HDMI, the video does not play and I get a message stating that the video could not be played
I'm fairly sure that this is some form of DRM, as even if I start playing the video on my phone screen and then attempt switch to one of the other screens, playback stops and I either get the message stating that the video could not be played, or the app kicks me back to the selection screen.

If my conclusions above hold true, the suitability of MTN FrontRow as a VOD solution for the home is severely limited; it is primarily a mobile solution.

@sn3rd
Either way I cancelled my subscription, as I got zero reply with regards to issues regarding my tablet and adding the service to other computers, even emailed them I have cancelled the subscription a week back due to failure to fix their shyte, no response, so go figure no matter how attractive they try and make it, not going to work with crappy support...

I'm starting to feel the same way. The novelty of a mobile VOD solution wears off pretty quickly.

Or just plug your PC into your TV...

I give up using this service.

Application/upstream provider verifying licensing - sometimes just stays at buffering without loading picture or worse sits at checking entitlement which is frustrating when wanting to watch TV series . Tried with three different phones,problem persists
