I hav so many complaints that i dont have time to type them out. If u thinking of going to MTN, DONT. they are worst service provider out there.

Endless Problems.

i'm happy with them...
had more trouble with vodacom...
just got my e71 :D awesomeness :D

Truely a decent phone too...

Agreed, all 3 are ****e, MTN is still thinking about refunding my 300+VAT (after they agreed not to charge) for 3 Phone upgrades that happened 12 months ago. I have been a client of MTN for 15 Years!!! And guess what I get for Loyalty, well, 2 weeks ago I had to pay to do an upgrade, R100+VAT! Nice one MTN. 15 Years!!!

im tired of trying to get help from them they always give me wrong information, they always sending me around in circles. there 808 number does not get u through to an agent. it says to speak to an agent press zero u push zero then it says u must dial 808. WTF i just dialed 808.

there service is a joke.

Loyalty doesn't count it seems we have been MTN since 1995

As long as it works, I am Happy

Did 2 upgrades recently and besides waiting a couple of weeks for Stock of the W995, wasn't too bad...

Hope the Billing issues get's sorted soon ... if ever

MTN managed to screw up my data billing for the last 4 months. Luckly my contract expired about a month ago, so I cancelled my 3G and moved over to Telkom.

Everyone told me Telkom would be even worse, but in my experience Telkom's service is 10 times better than the crap from MTN. Never thought I would say that, but Telkom rules compared to MTN.

ADSL line installed in 5 days, R29/GB with Afrihost, feel like I am in broadband heaven compared to the expensive and mostly EDGE only connection with MTN.

Already have ADSL Telkom Line with MWEB 512 5GB All Inclusive
R545pm

In our Area we seem to be getting HSDPA MTN aswell

Just got this very interesting data of my preliminary phone bill:
Date Time Duration Dialled No. /Don't Show Aliases
Category Network Amount
2009-11-26 11:13:03 00:04:23 44XXXXXXXXX Land Line 11.43
2009-11-28 19:32:08 00:00:01 264XXXXXXX Land Line 24.13
2009-11-28 19:43:41 00:00:01 264XXXXXXXX Land Line 2.54

Ain't that interesting. Call to UK land line in PEAK time R11.43
Call to Namibia land line weekend for 1 second R24.13?
Call to Namibia on cell network R2.54.
Interesting that I can still give them the benefit of the doubt that their systems is screwed, until I have to pay.

I've found Vodacom to be worse than MTN:erm:

I mean thrice already i've gone to a vodashop to get out a contract and guess what? SYSTEM OFFLINE!!! WTF? how do you expect to make money if your customers cannot even take out a contract.

All in all i'm thinking about turning to MTN:D I know that people have had problems with mtn when their contract ends but i truly am considering it.

MTN service centre in Northgate was also off-line last week at some point. The shop only opened after 10:00.

My problem with all of them are the prices. THEY ARE MILKING US FOR EVERY LAST CENTS!!!

Ok, I finely got my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic from MTN. I love it, I have great coverage and reception. One of the best things I got with it was my Nokia Music store voucher for one year. Its awesome since I probably the biggest music-freak in South Africa (Right now Ive got the new Bump 25 lekker loud on my PC) but do you think I can put it to good use? NO FREAKING WAYZZ!!?? Vodacom, MTN and CellC charge 2 bucks for one meg of data!? WTF!! So the music I get from the music store is good quality, like 6 - 8mb a song, so thats R12 - R16 for supposedly *free* music to download!! They must really change things around. My friend told me in America he gets 6GB of data to use for FREE on his Nokia N96 for $40 ($40 X R7.50 = R300 / month) a month allong with 1000 (not a mistype - one thousand) free minutes and unlimited texts.

You ripoffs here in SA (YES! Im talking to you Voda, MTN and CellC) you better wake up a bit! I'm sick of not being able to jol internet on my phone without letting my dad get a hearth attack at the end of the month!!

you wont win. they didnt become the multi-billion rand companies they are by giving value for money. they are sucking us dry on everything and spending most of their budget on more advertising and sponsoring rubbish instead of their infrastructure.

It's bad, it's bad, you know it! Ah hah!
And the whole world...

Actually I've never really had problems with MTN aside from 3G in PE (come one people, its the Eastern Cape!) and occasional phone call d/cs (which is still better than CellC).
