MTN issue with BES activation

Bet you haven’t heard this one in years - I’m struggling to get a BlackBerry 9300 activated on a BES server. It’s not getting a host routing table and the service books seem sparse. Can’t do enterprise activation.

Any ideas? Working on a project where I need access to a BES server quite urgently, found an old 9300 today but can’t get the thing activated.

Tried Vodacom and FNB SIMs also - same issue. I remember there used to be a code that you need to type in - this is on an MTN contract SIM but I’m not against going out to buy a prepaid SIM from whatever network.

I may be wrong, wasn't BES decommissioned completely some time ago?

Definitely still running as my client is using it, albeit in South America.

As far as I can tell, it’s BIS that was decommissioned, not BES. Found an article about it from around 2013. There are definitely users running on the server right now.
