MTN launches Data4Keeps – a year-long data bundle

5Mb is this a joke?

Do we want the grownup world to laugh at us for the silly special child we are?

Honestly, I can't see that happening. Just look a each providers websites and what you can and can't do on their websites. MTN is lagging behind.

I agree but I was talking about coverage vs value for money. MTN beats Vodacom hands down in the value for money spot but coverage I think MTN and Vodacom are really close.

For me driving from Richards Bay to Empangeni which is about 45km apart I do not lose LTE signal once where with Vodacom I only get LTE in the CBD.

MTN is pushing LTE in the townships and if you look at the coverage map you will get shocked to see how far MTN actually got LTE coverage. I think Vodacom and MTN on LTE coverage alone MTN might actually take it. Very interesting to see how these two operators are actually doing with such limited spectrum yet they are really getting coverage out there.

MTN selling the Steppa2 LTE for R999 is a really good move brining LTE to entry level devices where Vodacom's cheapest LTE device is the Vodafone that sells for R1200 or R1300 I think.

Believe it or not but MTN is actually comparing favourably with other operators in terms of data prices. MTN 1GB is R160 but with the data promotion that has been running for years you get double your data so you get 2GB for R160 where with Vodacom you only get 1GB for R149
